Florida has banned DEI programs in public colleges. Where is the federal government?

But again, when does states rights begin to trample over people's ability to live in a truly free society and be seen, heard and valued and be able to go to college without feeling like they're living or working in a or learning rather in a hostile environment and not having the appropriate offices or programs to support them when things go wrong? So I would love to hear from you in terms of what you all are thinking about this, if this is something you care about

And I want to know what's I want to understand. It like the idea of banning anything in this country. We can't ban assault of weapons. Assault of it sounds very Italian. We can't ban assault weapons. Right. That we can't do. But we can ban books. And we've been hearing this conversation a lot on swell that very parallel. But thank you for bringing this to our attention and let's see if we get more comments about this and more clarity

The story of America should be told that those people, in order to maintain power and control, will employ these kind of tactics to silence our voices. So for me, again, the pushback is something to be expected. But I think the bigger question is what is going on with our neighbors to where this is what they want to do to other people and how they want to disenfranchise other people?

The state of Texas, I mean, Florida, which seems like just kind of a very questionable path to go down, trying to sort of ban paths of education. I don't know how any adult takes this. He has a lot of voters. Well, we'll see if he has any voters. I guess. He just announced that he's officially running for president, so we'll see where this goes. But great question, Ty

A large portion of people that support these GOP led initiatives are what I would consider diverse populations. A lot of Latinos, for example, are cheering and rallying on Trump DeSantis all these people who are literally have agendas against their own interests. S and it really does make no sense, but it's frustrating for sure

Happens or the situation in Florida becomes so dire to where it's like it can't be ignored, which to me, it feels like people should already be in that space. But for whatever reason, there's not this sense of urgency that other people I would hope other people have like I currently have about it. And maybe it comes to these programs being shut down in colleges and students feel that ending up in hostile learning environments

What situation does that put historically marginalized people in in those states who can't just up and leave to get away from the inevitable barreling down of oppression that's going to be amplified because of what's happening in these places? And what does that do to further rip at the fabric of the country that is already so tattered and torn? I do not like where we are headed as a nation, given what I'm seeing
