Microwave, shmicrowave. I don’t need one in my house.

Like, I've gotten along with 35 years without it. Don't eat it. Confession at work, we can't boil water. We're not supposed to have hot pots or plug in electric kettles. So I do microwave water to the boiling point at work. But tell me, what do you use it for? Is it essential for you? I understand that since past 20 years, microwave sales have dropped significantly, partly due to one, everybody already has one

Tell me what you use your microwave for. #kitchen #cooking #baking #food #appliance

Those are our two appliances to actually work really, really well that we've never had to replace knock on food. But, yeah, I can't live without a microwave. Like you said, I use it for popcorn, for bacon, for warming up butter. If I did cook, I would use it to melt chocolate. I don't cook. I don't bake. Nice few fletch chilies, quadova and Subway and caribou. They cook for us, and that is their job

@Tim I've been corrupted

And, yeah, now I use it for heating things up. That's it. I don't use it for anything. Oh. I use it for my heat packs, my wheat bags. And interestingly enough, you can heat wheat bags up in the oven. People don't notice. When I didn't have a microwave, I had wheat bags, heat packs back then, and you just pop them in the oven for a little bit

There is this group of people who kind of feel that not having a microwave somehow, I don't know, makes them better cooks or makes them more holy or something. I don't know. It's sort of like but we could go back in so many ways on all of this. I mean, there's so many ways to cook and do things. I mean, should we get rid of electric stoves too?

@barbarakb 🤣

Microwaves, and I think just the only other thing about microwaves and not using it, we eat so little processed and prepared foods, I mean, frozen foods. That's another reason not to have it take up counter space. I know, for a frozen entree, occasionally, when we do get them, we know it's going to take five to ten minutes in the microwave, it's going to take 30 to 40 in our conventional or toaster oven, and we're fine with that

@Tim 😧

We are gasto people, and I've got two burner, four burners, and then a burner in the middle that's really good for grilling and pancakes and stuff. So, yeah. What's your oven? What's your whole and it's just this one thing that I have to deal with. Well, actually, two. It's the thing on the top and the thing on the bottom. It's just one space in my kitchen is what I'm saying

Hey, Barbara. Yeah. We all have our different ways and habits when it comes to cooking. I do have a gas range with five burners and a very large oven, although it doesn't have a griddle attachment. So we it doesn't make pancakes very well. Our fifth burner in the middle is better for high heat, for walks, but we don't have a wok. So here's the toaster oven story
