Public Service Announcement on E-scooters

article image placeholderUploaded by @Tim
They don't pay attention to bikes, pedestrians, or scooters. So just be careful out there. But that also means is when you're on the road, on the street, you are a vehicle. And I bring this up because yesterday as I was walking down Durant Bancroft, right outside RSF, I saw two students on electric scooters. Just ignore that stop sign. Not the stop sign, the traffic light, the red light

I’m all for e-scooters as a mobility solution AND let’s be careful out there!

Jim f equals ma impacted on my girlfriend. She was walking to the bus to go to work and somebody flew past her on an electric scooter. I didn't see her coming. She came around the corner, smacked into her. She ended up with concussions, stitches, bruises, bike. Her nose was broken. Sorry, I didn't mean to swear. It was a terrible accident. That's why I swore, because I went and visited her every day. Yeah, bad

Had to get back to my hotel. It was super late at night. There was nobody out, and there were tons of scooters. So I figured, why not? I can ride this basically anywhere I want without fear of encountering a car. Because there were no cars out. I mean, it was literally dead outside. And in that moment, I felt really safe. But I still didn't have a helmet available
