Alexithymia - What is that?

It's because they are trying to figure out what's going on and process what they are seeing. They have a very hard time comforting other people who are in distress. They pretty much can't do it. Often they have been told they are like a robot or unfeeling. Their face often doesn't show much or any emotion, what is known as blank face or stone face. And I'm going to continue this in the next segment, so keep on listening

As a child, it was too overwhelming. So as a coping mechanism, their brain decided to not have any emotions and chose to forever suppress, disown and deny them. There are exercises and treatments to help people with this and I can talk about that in the following some treatments for Alexithymia practice looking at photos of other people having different emotions. Practice naming the emotions and then make up a reason why that person may be having that emotion. Give them a false scenario that they are going through now

Going over some exercises and treatments for those with Alexithymia. Some treatments may include practice looking at photos of other people having different emotions, let's say in a magazine. Practice naming the emotion and then make up a reason why that person may be having that emotion. Next, give them a false scenario that they might be going through now
