What is an "Emotional Flu"?

And the reason why you want to ask these questions is because often we'll assume we know what someone wants or needs when they're not feeling well, and we really shouldn't assume that we know what someone needs or wants, so we want to ask them what they need or want. So the best three questions to ask someone is one, do you want a shoulder to cry on or someone to lean on and someone to just be by your side and listen?

Thank you. Good morning. I just wanted to share what I appreciated from this because I did appreciate it very much. The comparison to the physical and emotional flu is very helpful to me. Think of things in like word pictures so I can visualize having the flu and how it feels like. And sometimes you do feel so down when it's the emotional flu. I did like the point of eating little or not eating at all because emotions can create emotional eating

And it's exactly like the flu, because our systems are broken down, our immune system is broken down, and we're not moving with the same amount of, like, oxytocin and dopamine and endorphins all those things that are happy, happy things are not warding off all the bad stuff that's kind of trampling around our bodies. So I think to look at emotional flu as a sort of paradigm is really fantastic. But those three questions you asked are so back to the simple
