THE BOYS - I’m late to the party

article image placeholderUploaded by @DBPardes
It's also about the corporate greed behind Brand, and it's about our habits as a culture to lift people up to a point where we don't want to see their flaws. I'm only in season one, and I'm wondering who has seen The Boys and don't be a spoiler for me. Don't tell me how season one ends. I'm only on like Number Five, about to do five, probably later tonight

It’s a ride ... I’m loving it. @celiafink

And I liked the storyline, like you said, flawed people, trying to be superheroes with Noah rules and trying to figure out what they're going to do next and how they're going to satisfy the Corporation anyway. Enjoy, my friend

Obviously he did The Boys, The Punisher comic books, some of the most violent and like dark CD issues of The Punisher that I've ever read have been a result of Garth Ennis very odd creative brain. At any rate, please enjoy the ride. Would love to talk more as you enjoy the series, and probably you'll catch up by the time the next season rolls around. So that will be exciting

@celiafink @Taylor @DrWright

I'm so happy I'm hearing from both of you while I'm watching this because it gives me encouragement, Dr. Wright and Taylor, because I sometimes we have these guilty pleasures and we have to lean into the pleasure more than the guilty. And I'm somebody who really says I like movies more than series, because movies you can get done, series pull you in and take over your life. But I have to say I'm really into the characters and talk about journeys and development

Season 3? Not sure if I care..

I lost some of its nuance for me by the end of the second season, but the characters really kept me engaged, I guess, enough to say, Let me finish this, but I definitely felt like they got heavy in their approach to tackling societal issues. Let's say it lost some of its buoyancy. It got pretty heavy in a way that lost its effect on me because it became too obvious. So I'm not sure if they're going for another season. I don't know
