Why We Feel Lost in Life & How to Find yourself

And so the term addiction is really any behavior where an individual finds temporary pleasure or relief and therefore craves that over and over again and then they suffer negative consequences after for short term relief or escape and it's really hard to give up, right? And the term addiction actually was created in the Roman times and addictive was somebody who was assigned to another person to serve them because they owed them money and they couldn't pay it back. So an addict was almost like an indentured slave

The language of control

Whereas people that are truly addicted to heroin or to other drugs or to smoking or to drinking, their lives are under this cloud of an awareness of sorts that depending upon what stage they are in it, sometimes it's just like it's not a problem at all. This is what I love to do and it's my thing and I'm not worried about it too. Oh my God, I'm so addiction to smoking. I wish I could stop, but I can't

And then instead of just learning the role and just getting acclimated to this new field, I said, oh, in two years time, I'm going to be a manager. Oh, after that year and a half, maybe two years, I'm going to be a senior manager, and then I'm going to do this, and I'm going to do that. At no point in time did I appreciate the process that got me where I was

I suppose people that if they were looking at me from the outside, who didn't know me, and they see me always exercising and always working out, they might think that's what it is, but it really isn't. So I've just done things to help better myself and learn about myself, find out what are my limitations, what am I capable of. And that was more of a thing for me than really than anything else. Anyway, short and sweet
