how to take care of your mental health

article image placeholderUploaded by @theertha
So even if it's five minutes, it really helps, the next thing I'm going to be talking about is gratitude. You have to be grateful. And this sounds like something from A. J. Shatti podcast, but truly, I think my mental health has improved so much ever since I started, before I go to bed, ever since I started talking about the things I'm grateful for and not the general things. I'm grateful to have a roof above my head

These are the tools and techniques I turn to when I'm having a rough time. Your mental health is so important, take care of it <3

Talking to myself 😎

And I guess I want to say that when you said you were just 14 and all this stuff kind of feels heavy on you, I really appreciate how thoughtful your relationship to yourself is, meaning that talking to yourself was the first thing you mentioned. And I think inside that conversation with yourself emerges this relationship, actually, that is lifelong. I know that sounds totally basic. Like, of course, we all talk to ourselves

But by that, I don't mean you should stress, eat or binge eat and about the meditation thing. I completely agree. It's not for everybody. And I was just talking about my experience with it and how it has helped me and also about the talking to myself thing. I think the relationship you have with yourself affects the relationship you have with everybody else. So before you go into stuff like that, you need to love yourself first

But I found it a bit difficult a lot of times because the whole struggle simply falls in place because I am trying to hide my own problems and sugarcoat them in some way or simply not address them or acknowledge them. So asking myself, what is the exact problem? It's like going to a kid who's committed a small crime, not a crime. Exactly. But just a very small little thing that the kid thinks is a major crime

StoicDan replies on the need for meditation and gratitude

These are ways that when we incur difficulties in our lives, we have to find a way over that. We have to find a way to learn from that. And some of the things that you said in your broadcast remind me of the teachings of the Buddhist called Pema Coderan. She wrote a book called When Things Fall Apart, and she talks about how the difficulties that we have in life are a kind of test and also a chance for healing

Oh, my God. First of all, I love your username. And Secondly, I agree with you about the being in denial thing because I think everybody has those days and I have them too. I think it's the human nature to I think that you're right. And sometimes it's not always that easy to acknowledge the actual problem and admit that you are wrong. So that's something that I need to overcome, too

@stoicdan Thank you! 🙏

Thank you so so much for the piece of wisdom that you shared with us today. I really appreciate it. And I think you perfectly framed what I wanted to say and used all the right words about the book. I actually came across it a couple of times times, and I've been meaning to check it out. So I'll definitely check that out. Thank you for the recommendation

This is really informative dear. And thanks for doing as well like this because now like just because of this Pandemic revenue, because of the pandemic, people are facing a lot of issues and we are actually failing to take care of our mental health anyway. Thanks for this Sir

Hi. I'm glad you liked the username. It was actually something else. But then I realized that the username earlier was DND, please, but I realized that will be a very, not welcoming username on a platform form like this. I just had to change it. So I literally just changed it to the first thing that came to my mind. Yeah, I do understand
