Street Art - Grogu

article image placeholderMay the force be with you.
This was a mural that was recently done at a sort of, like, old school novelty toy shop. They have a lot of, as you can imagine, Star Wars products there. But this was done by a local artist whose name I am completely blanking on. I'll have to update this when I go back. But he did this huge mural that was entirely dedicated to the Mandalorian, and I wanted to show you the little snapshot here of Baby Grow Goo

Baby Yoda greeting people as they walk in the store.

fan art v. commercial art

Taylor, this is a gorgeous painting. And as I was listening to this and thinking about this mural, I have some mixed emotions. I love street art where I live in Berkeley, California, the Downtown Business Commission actually has temporary murals put up whenever there's construction going on, because the city has a long history of storefront art. And instead of just people walking by construction sites, they want them to look at something fun

Although I want to say I think they're going to take it easy or they're going to start taking it easier on people just because I think at this point, almost everything serves as an Advertisement for them in one way or another. And as long as they're not doing the artist is not doing anything that's highly inappropriate or somehow tarnishes the company name, if you will, and they'll probably just let it slide. That would be my guess. But yeah, thanks for the comment
