What is your fondest movie going experience?

I was about seven years old, and I went to the Chinese theater in Los Angeles, and everybody was dressed up. It was one of the coolest moments of my life. So cool. In fact, that all these years later, I still remember it almost like it was yesterday. And there have been a handful of other movie going experiences that I remember as well. And so I was wondering from the swell community, what are some of the fondest movie going experiences that you have?

Feeling nostalgic today. Name a film where you can remember your first viewing like it was yesterday 🍿

Dodgers win! (And a trip in my Way Back Machine)

I got to a movie theater pub with a group with my friends, sat around the table in these really comfy club chairs and ate not to his drink beer and watch the movie Excalibur. It was a fun evening with my friends. Something kind of different back then in the early 80s. Okay, there. I just stayed myself. But the movie was great and it's Excalibur with Helen Mirren other story of Arthur King Arthur in the Roundtable. And I just love the movie

All right. So I am old enough that I saw the original Star Wars in theaters in 1977. I saw it twice. That was the most mindblowing thing I had ever scene. There's a reason why it became a global phenomenon. It's because nothing even touched that film at the time. It was like a whole new world opened up. But I don't need to tell anybody this. Everybody knows this. The one thing that, really, for some reason, stands out

Hey, Susan, thanks for the reply. And yes, it was so good to see the Dodgers win yesterday. You know, first time in my life having gone to Dodger games, lived right up the street. Basically. I mean, in terms of of La, I'm right up the street, but it's more like a 20 minutes drive. But yeah, it's just a really great feeling. And to see Kershaw finally win something special. And that experience that you explained sounds awesome

I remember seeing that in theaters, and I was just like, blown away by what I had seen and knew right away that it was going to be one of those pop culture. It would be in the echelon, if you will, of films and pop culture things in my lifetime that are just permanent. They have that place there. And I think that that's still very true. I remember sort of having the same feeling when I saw The Mummy with Brendan Fraser

Snakes on a Plane :)

All the movies that average Joe, Susan Taylor, you have been talking about those are amazing movies and are all kind of classics. And I can understand the experience you had when you saw them. The movie I want to talk about is nothing like any of them. But this was the most fun I had watching a movie in a theater. This was a movie called Snakes on a Plane. I don't know if you've seen it or heard of it. It's Samuel Jackson movie

Irish, I have to say that if I had to pick which movie you choose and I had one guess and my life depended on it. That is the absolute last movie I would have guessed that you would choose. Oh, my goodness. I literally let out a great laugh when I saw your caption there at the bottom of your swell. Not because I think it's ridiculous, but just because I too, hadn't such a great experience with it

And by the way, it does hurt my soul when people started going, if you went back 30 years now, you go back to 1985 when it was obviously 2015, but that kind of bothered me a lot. Yeah, that's pretty much it. I think that's how those films go. But yeah, I agree
