Middle school teacher from Illinois has police report filed against her after including LGBTQ book during "Reading Monday"

article image placeholderShe offered a LGBTQ-themed book to her middle schoolers. Parents filed a police report
Mind you, this was a book that was featured on one of these Reading Mondays. It sounds to me like there's a rotation going on here. But even more interesting, she goes on to explain how when students graduate and come back and visit her, a lot of them are sort of shell shocked by the amount of diversity that they experience

Knowing that I'm a smart a**, I said, well, I just keep them under some flaps in my skin, on my back. And she told me that some people think that Jews are spawns of Satan, and they're probably asking where my Satanic demonic wings and tail were. And we didn't spend long in Pensacola, and we moved down to Florida, and that was another diverse community

Hey Jordan, thanks so much for the reply. And you know, when I was listening to you, it reminded me a lot of my family. My dad's from Iran and my mom is pretty typical American Jew with descendants from Europe, Ashkenazi. And when they got together, it was at a time when you would never see people from um, Judaism mixing with people from Iran unless they were like literally Iranian Jews. My grandpa, my mom's dad was not thrilled when she brought him home

This is why this country is so scary to me right now, because we're saying, no, we don't want you to become educated and develop critical thinking. We want to control what we think is worthy of your processing energy. Hours. If you're going to be a student, we're going to give you things that we think you should learn. The whole thing just makes me so uncomfortable. I shake my head, I get scared
