My problem with professional referees...

article image placeholderArsenal confirm that David Luiz
Alright, I need a vent for a second about something. Now most of you here know that I'm a huge soccer fan and lately there's a lot of controversies surrounding the referees for the Premier League in old Der referee, who's now retired, has come out and said there used to be bias in the League in favor of Manchester United

Fantastic, fantastic piece. They are well done. Congratulations. I think Ben narrator challenge on Marshall was unfair because when it showed from one particular angle show, Berkeley wasn't really going to tackle. So I think sometimes it's by us, but they showed my gain their own footage. So I think this needs to be sorted out. That's the profit not giving press conference

Hey, Kojo. Yeah. Man, I agree with you. I think that there should be more accountability for referees. And I think that part of the problem is that because they don't really speak to the public and they don't speak to journalists. There's the assumption amongst referees that they can sort of do what they want and nothing will happen. And it's an assumption that they're pretty much spot on about because nothing really seems to happen

I don't even watch soccer, and I listen to your thing, and I'm like, yeah, that's really interesting. I'm listening to it because there was actually an interesting hockey referee incident today, and I just looked up referees and heard your thing. So I think you may have an opportunity to become a professional football referee commentator. It's unique. I don't know if many people have done it, but if you're consistent with it, it could build up

So keeping that in mind, I don't think the problem is with referees anymore because it has more so become a VAR thing, but that's again, it's not a problem with VAR as well, because it's more to do with the rule book and the people who are actually making these rules and bending them. You see, the handball and rule got changed maybe three or four, five times the past two years or so. Yes, we have Hawkeye for the golden technology

And we've even had old referees come out and say that there's been bias in the League that favor other teams, and it's just kind of evolved to this really bizarre place of what do you do now? Rumi sort of touched on this a little bit, record another response and tag him in that as well

So, Ryan, this is a great video that you should watch. And Rumi, you know, this stuff already. I'm sure from the sounds of it, but I thought that it was a great video. Tfo Football has been putting out some really just next level content, and they do a fantastic, fantastic job of sort of articulating what the real issue here is, which is the interpretation element of VAR was brought in to solve a bunch of problems

@Taylor

They do it right because they know what the camera angles are. The camera angles are different. Grounds are different. They place differently. So that's how the whole confusion begins. I was like, why are you showing this to people then and what is going on and then why can't we go and take a look all by himself? What is the penalty anymore if a player goes down? I mean, I'm talking about some of the players who actually get power lock

So, yeah, we'd love to have conversations more and more conversations regarding all of these, not just the referee blunders and blueprints and all that stuff, but also tactics and some of the other things that people are talking about, because when I look at some of the punditry that is going on these days, it makes me laugh

@roomi let’s talk more on @soccer

I think that this is a fantastic place to do it sort of like you said, you're about to go work and then you have a break and this will be here. And our conversation just can thrive. I started a soccer open slow cast here, so let's definitely talk more. I would love to do more regular stuff. It's always good to talk with people about the game, and I haven't been able to
