Rant Time: The US Hospital System and the Rights of the Disabled

You're not really in the right condition to be making decisions on your own. So knowing that the hospital had these sort of covered policies in place, I wanted to make sure that I'd still be able to go and be with him because of his brain condition. I was told numerous times by the hospital staff that I was not allowed to go, even though my dad has a cognitive disability

Had a pretty bad experience last night that I wanted to share.

And I was wondering, I guess, in this rant, if anybody has experience with this, dealing with a situation similar in the past, please let me know. What are the avenues that I should take to, I guess, bringing this to light in a more official capacity. I definitely want to loop in the appropriate people that could maybe help facilitate a complaint against the hospital. They did not even have a visitation policy on hand. Everything was outdated

And so what's the disabled person to do that's lacking where we as humanity needs to step up and know that we need to help one another. If you have a disabled child, whether you do, you give them what they need according to what they require as some of their disability. That's what we have to do as people. We don't always have to be directly connected to actually give a crap

Hey, Taylor. Wow. This is a lot to take in. Here the scenario you explained about your father and also about the people that came in after you that you witnessed. First of all, Brandy, thank you for your comments as well. In terms of just the idea of empathy being a Salve in this very irritated state that we find ourselves
