Old Hollywood - Grauman’s Chinese Theatre

article image placeholderChinese theater in LA
In 1922, just down the road, the Egyptian theater saw great success. And so Sid Graham and other of other investors decided to build the Chinese Theater just down the road, right down the street from Hollywood and Highland. A few years later, in 1927, the very first film premiered there. It was a Cecil B. Da Mill film called The King of Kings. Now over the years, the Chinese Theater has been one of the hubs of entertainment in Los Angeles

And when the film premiered and they were going to have other footprints cast, there were actually special boots that were made to give the appearance as if C Three PO had actually walked there. Rather than having just some flat shoe prints. From what I've been able to gather online, it seems as though Rick Baker actually helped design these boots. Now that name might sound familiar to you. He's actually an Oscar winning makeup artist. He is probably most well known for an American werewolf in London

But Martin Scorsese star definitely stood out to me. He continues to be one of the most influential people and filmmakers in the world. And if I'm being honest, here a lot of the movies that we're seeing today being incredible successful films are really kind of nods at the work that he's already accomplished. Many feel like carbon copies to some of the films that he's made over his career
