Vonnegut’s "Harrison Bergeron"

article image placeholder2081 - Harrison Bergeron, de Kurt Vonnegut (legendado)
So given that things are going absolutely Dystopian on us here in the United States, I wanted to link a story that Kurt Vonnegut wrote back in. I believe in the 60s that I always find myself looking back to when I reflect on kind of the state of things here in the United States

Obsessed with Sci Fi & Distopian Futures! #sciencefiction

I'm obsessed with postapocalyptic Dystopian, and I totally compelled by this idea that science fiction often predicts what happens for us, including all of the deep theories of life as well, are reflected in the TV series and the movies. Right? So even things like Star Trek, I always feel like that kind of Shakespearean feel of people discussing the deepest themes of life on stage. But in a futuristic science fiction landscape just reaches into my call. Favorite movie. Favorite alltime movie is Blade Runner. Of course

OOOPS! Secret is out

Oopsie, Daisy. I posted this reply as Olga, the Russian tampers who is a character of mine that I do on here. Technical problems. So yeah, sorry about that. I'm not sorry, Georgie. Olga can be talking on other people's accounts all the time, but you're still in my account to talk to Carly, not a girl

And I took a whole class on basically Dystopian futures and Utopian failures. So we read Fight Club as well. And The Last Man on Earth we watched, which was the Vincent Price film adaptation of I Am Legend. And of course, Blade Runner is absolutely amazing. I loved the newest one. I thought that it was just incredible. I'm a sucker for anything that Dennisville and OVA does. So that was something very much so up my alley

Still me... Haven't read Lovecraft. Arthur C Clarke = Classic

And what an experience. They compliment each other beautifully. I've done that twice now, just the continuation of the narrative, the way that the music was so similar to the music from before the scenes, the tone, the atmosphere, that kind of film noir treatment. Yup. Loved it, loved it

Yes, I couldn't agree more with you about I am Legend. I think that it is a brilliant film that unfortunately took a back seat because of Will Smith's adaptation, which you know, if you want to kind of switch your brain off and just watch some mindless action for a while, I guess it's a good choice, but I personally found it lacking some substance compared to the original end to the book itself. Since you're Australian, you may have seen this film

Daybreakers = B grade Aussie Vampire movie

Totally seen it. It was really, really interesting, actually, because he was originally a comedy actor, an English comedy actor. And then he did a Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch. And then I saw him in this. Yeah, it's a good movie, man. Actually, it's an excellent movie. It's been a while and I saw it ages ago. I must have seen it when I first released released it's hard to speak. It's like 02:20 a.m

The Colour Out of Space

You'll see why if you read the story itself and the film and book annihilation the film with Natalie Portman, I don't know if you've seen it one of my favorite movies as of recently drew a lot of inspiration from Lovecraft's The Color Out of Space, so definitely checked that out
