Alec Baldwin fires prop gun on set of "Rust," killing cinematographer Halya Hutchins

And so for those that are not involved in the entertainment industry, what that means is that the people that they hired for this movie in certain roles, obviously, while they may have experience on set, they certainly don't have the experience of working on a set at the highest level. When you are in the Union, you get the best jobs on set typically means that you have been doing it the longest and that you're the best at what you do

Film and TV sets are inherently dangerous…but when you cut corners they can be 1000x worse. https://s.swell.life/SSma8142s9KYyCy

Take this with a grain of salt, but this is not something that is unusual or rare. I've seen stuff like this a lot. So it's looking like if this is true again, grain of salt, it looks like this was just a very haphazardly put together set and crew with very little oversight being done trying to pinch pennies as much as possible. We're we'll see what happens

Being in the #union also involves $$$ fees which some cannot afford to pay.

I read to the story. I got an alert from WGN News on Twitter about this. And I mean, one thing to point out is that, yes, it's very difficult to get into a Union. But at the same time, there are Union dues. I have a friend who's in the Union, and I think he's got to pay, like, $1,000 a month or something, some really high dollar amount

And it's clear that it is from negligence that this has come about because it's not paying enough attention when you're dealing with genuine weapons, because they are and, yeah, just not taking it seriously enough and understood that they need to take care of their staff, for them to be able to handle these weapons properly, even if that actually comes down to even taking care of Alec Baldwin and making sure that he was rested and felt like he was able to do his job safely and with the right protocol

And they used for some reason there was a live round in that one, too, and he was shot and killed right there on the spot. And the actor who shot him and killed him ended up retiring from acting because it was so emotionally scarring to him. So I think Hollywood and production companies are going to have to start reinvestigating this and looking into this and finding out why these things are happening. I know it's a completely isolated incident. It hasn't happened in so long

Response regarding joining the Union and also prop safety check list.

And if they're not getting work on a regular basis, maybe they can't pay their credit card fees. When I lost my job, my credit score was like 720 and it dropped down to 520. So that's the main thing is whether or not you will be able to get a loan to pay off or to pay. Hey, the Union startup fee. Anyways. Thank you for listening to my long windedness, and that's it. Thanks, guys. Bye
