My Mom Committed Suicide

And I imagined how hurt and how lonely it must have felt to choose what she chose in belief that it will offer her kids, her future, a different outcome. So when I arise in the morning officially outlived my mom, I will have so many new perspectives on how I will honor her each day and

It will always be a core of sadness and loss. But it transforms into something that it's almost like if you're looking at, like, a garden, you have all these big rooted trees. And one of those big trees in your garden is your mom. And it provides so much definition because it's like the mother tree

It obviously gets to a level of not being able to cope and move forward with life. And I feel like if there were some more deeper levels of understanding around suicide, then it wouldn't be so hard for people to connect and empathize with the people who it deeply impacts. So thank you you again very much for sharing

The Healing

I'm thank you, Vanessa, for your comment. And it has taken me a little bit of time to come back to this thread, but one of the things I wanted to just acknowledge and agree with, that there is healing in the acknowledgment and empathizing

Firmly Planted

I think there's just a lot of other questioning things that have been happening this moment in my life. So I do appreciate the kind words and I do like the analogy of being in a forest and my mom being a tree there firmly planted. And I like to think that the roots that she have, those are the roots that have grounded me

Hi, Anna. This is actually my first response here on this platform. And while you were speaking, I thought of myself. My mom passed at the age of 55, where I'm not too far from that age age. So I understand she didn't pass from suicide, but she had tried multiple times to take her life. And I didn't understand why. Like, why would somebody want to take their life? What could have been so hard that you want to take your own?

You. Hi Anna. First of all, I hear you. I feel you. And I have been there in the shoes of your mom and in the shoes that you are in. I completely relate to how difficult it can be to process such a loss. And thank you for sharing this, because in this process, you are not only helping yourself grow, you're helping many more grow through the process of not needing to look, having it all together all the time
