Mass afforestation drives - more hype than solution?

So there needs to be a shift in focus away from just tree planting and towards people and ecosystems. But unfortunately, from what I read in this article, such large scale tree planting programs have not quite achieved this. Many such programs have high failure rates, they result in wasted resources, and worse yet, planting the wrong kind of trees in ecosystems, which with naturally sparse tree cover, is actually counterproductive for addressing climate change

I really don't know what to comment on this post, but yeah, it was really very, you know, informative. And yeah, I sometimes feel that a forestation is necessary in today's world. Like, we need to have more forest because, as you can see in the Amazon also, like, the Amazon has reduced by 50% in the past 20 to 30 years. So I think a forestation might be a necessity
