Start your Personal Podcast! A gentle guide to help you post your first Swell

article image placeholderUploaded by @DBPardes
Do it. You don't have to listen to the rest of this. Okay, for those of you who are sticking around, let's get into this. Here we go. I want to help you get over the initial hump of posting your first Swell. It's perfectly normal to hesitate a bit when trying something new, right? So I want to give you a few ideas to inspire you. Let's talk about what you should talk about. Personal podcasting is about you

#SwellTipsFromSwell How to post your first Swell and get your Swellcast started

My first swell reply!

Thank you for encouraging me. I just did my first swell. I'm so brand new here. I have no idea what I'm doing. But I'm so happy because I love voice, I love social audio, and it's really cool to find this, and I'm so happy to learn from you. You've been doing this for three years, so thank you for encouraging me. This is my first reply, and I just posted my first swell, so I'm feeling swell

Question

And I just wanted to know if I'm missing something or if I was doing something inaccurately, or if there's something else I could do to boost my posts besides clicking on the invites. So if you have an answer to that, I would really appreciate it. And to be honest with you, I don't even know how I'm going to receive your answer to this message, where I would find it

@ThriveLauraMonk

Hey, Laura, thank you so much for your question. And I'm answering it right here in this thread. And it is such a great question, and people have asked it before, and we're going to do a separate swell just dedicated to this, and I promise you I will invite you to it. So thank you for this question and stay tuned, and I'll get that back to you. Thank you so much

We're not living in New York City or Boston. Anyways, I've been putting it out there to all these male companies, businesses, and they say they'll get back to me. I even met with one guy at a marina. He needed help desperately to power wash boats. How hard is that? I did it over COVID. I loved it. Put you in the zen. And I also did what do you call it?

Is it possible I could put them back out there with the right hashtags on it? Maybe somebody that's knowledgeable or could read it and tell me how I can do better? So I don't know if you do. Can you tell me? All right. Thank you

Hey, Mike. When you look at the three dots next to any individual Swell and you click the word Share, one of the options is to reswell. It just means that you're saying, hey, community, I like this person. I'm going to swell what he just said and it pops it out to the followers who follow you

I forget what those three options are called, but you know what I'm talking about. Where we have to toggle three options on our swells before posting or three maximum, I believe. Where do those people come from and who are they, basically, is what I'm asking. And I was just curious. I know at the very bottom it says new. I new to swell or something, but the ones more up towards the top. I just wanted to know how those people got there

Hey, Laura. Thank you for your question. Sorry for my late reply. I think I know your question. You. Hi, I just noticed something on Swell, and I wanted to ask you, when someone clicks on our name, is anyone able to see all our current activities, such as things we've replied to in other people's Swell and conversations we've had? And the reason why I'm asking this is because I use Swell for basically my clients to get more information. But I also, on the other hand, use Swell for personal conversations to have with people and have discussions with and conversations

You can talk to somebody for years, literally and all they do is go to that section and they talk with you back. So that's something that I always advise people to do who want to have private conversations. But that doesn't mitigate your problem, which is do they see my whole world? And they do. So let's see if that's a toggle option in the future. It's a good question. Thank you so much Laura, for your contributions here

And I wanted to know if I can just delete those and get those off of my profile page on my business account and start replying in my personal account instead. But in the meantime, I wanted to know if there's a way in this account if I can just swipe or delete everything that I've replied in in the Replied in section. If I can just mike delete those people. I know how to delete a conversation or a post I made

Hey, Laura, if you delete the reply, it'll go away from the Replied in streamer. So you can go ahead and just delete the replies that you want to reply. I mean, you want to delete from your business account and they'll automatically disappear from your Replied In. It should automatically work. If it doesn't, let me know. It's a bug. We'll get it addressed, but it should work

I think I have been able to expand my perspective, learn from diverse individuals, and integrate their wisdom into my own practice as a healer and life coach. The deep connections I have formed with the guests, even from a distance, have been a source of inspiration and guiding light on my path of growth. But in terms of going back and editing, edit, editing audio, you can't do that. Once you put the audio in, you can't edit it. That's for safety reasons. Also, we really want people to know that the audio they're hearing is not uploaded. It's not anything, it's just what it is. And it's what you've said. Now remember that when you record, you can listen to it a bunch of times and delete it and record again

@knowledge72 - Here are some tips :)

And then you can hit the record button again, and it'll ask you I forget what it says exactly, but it'll essentially ask you if you want to start recording from here. Like, do you want to cut and record from this point forward? And you do? Yes. And then you can kind of dub over the part where you made a mistake, and it'll just replace it. So that's a good thing. If you make a mistake, don't worry about it

And then it'll pop up in your swell as a link. And it'll even show on the photos a photo of that article or that video or something. And I think that's really super cool. That swell. Did that. And I just found that out recently that I can copy and paste anything from the internet and attach it to my Swell, and it'll automatically become a link. So that's something to keep in mind that I think is really super cool

You. Hey, thank you so much for that response. I've been working with myself with the self confidence and kind of being able to jump out of my comfort zone, but I know to be able to share my passion and my desires for what I do, that it's important to instead of be selfish, to be selfless. Stop Talking about Divorce! Its annoying!

People who are going through a divorce need the space to be able to share what they're going through so they can get to the other side, so they can go through the healing process, through the healing journey. They need that sensitivity, they need that caring space for them to feel safe, to be able to let down their guard and be able to share their emotions. I just think that divorce is a thing that people should talk more about, even though it's not

But yes, my big question is how do we post a podcast and how do we get interviews by people? I have realized last year when I got the equipment, I'm like come on, come on, let's go. And I was trying to figure out how to record, how to edit and I had one person, we did it. And of course the first recording we did were sniffling, which we can hear pretty clearly through the whole 45 minutes of it

Because if it could have happened in any other way, if you could have done something differently, then those things would have happened. And so really the best advice at this point is to be kind to yourself and to really just give yourself that space. You need to grieve. Because while I've never found anybody like that, I have witnessed my grandfather dying, and it is the most hopeless thing in the world to see someone, and there's nothing that you can do
