Do Women Read More Books than Men ?

article image placeholderUploaded by @Sumranjs
But because of my latest, I would say most recent Reading Frenzy, I have started subscribing to book clubs and going to libraries and on social media as well, and of course, Swell. And this question is basically my experience through all these different places

Today. Simron hopefully I'm saying your name right. Thank you for inviting me for this pose because honestly, I did not really notice a gender difference between men and women reading because for me, I mean, as a female I never really noticed. Right. And I feel like we need more of the male's perspective because I don't think I can speak on the behalf of the guy. It but I can only speak on my perspective. And I noticed I love reading

I shouldn't even be talking about it because I know that my sister loves reading thrillers and spy detective novels and so on and so forth. So we shouldn't be judging there at all. But it's a matter of taste. And my father reads a lot of novels as well. So I'm not sure if we can really bring in gender here as to why men don't respond to book reviews. Swell that could have to do with possibly women are much more inclined to share, right?

So I think I would request everyone who's listening to me at this point, male or female, or however you want to identify yourself, to take a look at this video as well, which is I thought was very comprehensively. It covers most of the facts or assumptions around the gender gap. And then in the following link, I also show a graph revealing that gender gap

So there is a statistical evidence showing that adult women read more novels than men, attend more book clubs than men, use libraries more than men, buy more books than men, take more creative writing courses than men, and probably write more works of fiction than men. If women suddenly stopped reading, the novel would nearly disappear. So do you all agree with that? Please chime in

Well sumaran, what can I say? Data is data. And if Data does point out to this fact that women read more than men, then that is what it is. So I'm not sure why this is so, because I have seen men in my family read a lot, so I'm not really able to opine on why this could be a trend. But I'm very happy to know that the women are reading and reading a lot and leading the pack

I think its hard to find people that read the same types of books.

He says that these romance novels are women's version of p***. Take that as you will, but you do see a lot of them and there can't be much value to them. Come on, let's be fair. So, I don't know, I guess people obviously get obsessed with fiction, and they read a ton of fiction. I think if you talk to more maybe middle aged adults, they're obviously at some point going to switch to nonfiction, I think

We're able to immerse ourselves in the stories, we're able to connect with the characters in the story and we get drawn in that way. And so we love a good book with a great story that draws us in. And I think that's why we probably are more of the fiction, short story, novel type reader because that pulls at our emotions. Whereas men, they like books that are informational

I can step into any character, whether a female or a male. And as a writer, I can bring out so much nuances. But that's, I think, very typical of. Maybe not everybody can relate to that. So thanks for your reply. And also thanks for your words of ink encouragement. Those were very kind. I really appreciate it. Thank you
