Now, activity of this LCT gene stops in adults, making them lose their ability to digest milk. However, somewhere between 5000 to 10,000 years ago we started domesticating animals. We also started to drink milk, drink their milk just because it was easy nutrition and especially so during the times of famines. It did not go well with most adult tummies, but it was still a better option than dying of starvation. And this desperate attempt changed some of us

But I think it also makes sense somewhere, somehow because the eating habits of these regions, the regions that you mentioned have developed lactose tolerance where the percentage is high of people with that gene, who are carrying that gene is high because I think they have been drinking milk for a long, long time. That's what their food habit includes. I guess the geographical distribution makes sense and indeed Darwin would have a hard time comprehending this while Lamar would lamar must be laughing right now from his grave
