Habits Part 1

article image placeholderUploaded by @stronglives
Another saying that I like we are what we repeatedly do. Excellence is therefore not an act but I have it but I want you to also keep in mind that setbacks are inevitable. So if you look at any graph where you see progress or you see gains you do hope to see them moving in an upward trend but it's not a straight line. It's not always going up. There are going to be little dips in the graph which are our setbacks, our circumstances

But he realized that he had to do something. So he started by not smoking outside of these two triggers. So just normal times during the day, he wouldn't smoke at all. Then gradually, he changed his morning coffee to an espresso, rather than that drawn out, luxurious experience which a lot of us love, of sipping the cappuccino or the latte and taking your time drinking it, which is wonderful. But for him, that's what really triggered him

Part 3 #alcohol

Just that sudden surge of whatever has made me feel angry or really upset. Relationship problems, stuff like that, and the urge to just turn to alcohol and be like, oh, I just need a night out. Binge drinking. Yeah, the urge has been crazy, really. But we all know emotions, me especially and everybody that has ever drunk with me, my circle of friends, my partner will know that this really sounds like me. But we all know emotions do not mix with alcohol

Habits Part 4

And sometimes I have found, especially in a gym class, that I stick to something or I push myself that extra bit further just because of that accountability. Just because there's people looking, they're not really looking. That's another topic. So, yeah, I think it's all to do with bettering yourself, really. You have to have your own best interest at heart, and that's okay. There's nothing wrong with that

Habits Part 5 #expectations #personalbreakthrough #epiphany

It's important to have standards in relationships and everything. And I'm also not talking about, you know, if you're in a partnership, marriage or something similar or even in a household and someone isn't pulling their weight or somebody's just really not contributing to the relationship at all. I'm not talking about situations like that because I'm not in a situation like that at all. So just using myself as an example. Yeah, having epiphanies and things like that

Habits Part 6 #selflove #selftalk #deal

This has probably taken me actually years to get to this point for anyone that knows me and how I go to the gym. So it started off by, if I don't go to the gym before work, I'll go after work. That's where it started. But then knowing my body and being in tune with my circadian rhythm, I'm too tired by the end of the day. I can't do it

Hi, Simone. I love how in depth you went with this. I agree with so much of what you're saying, and it's a good reminder always is to, I think, hear people talk about it and then to talk about it yourself. I don't know how you feel now, but I feel like whenever I put into words like my process and habit making, I kind of find new pieces to the puzzle that I haven't seen before

It's really good to hear. Thanks. And I'll just say I think that just made me think, actually, about overachievers. As a child, I was an overachiever. So I'm quite good at a lot of things that I did. So academics, sport, there wasn't much that I wasn't good at. So when it comes time to learning new skills, especially as an adult branching out, I'm better now
