To get us started, let's talk about your upcoming session at south by Southwest. You'll be speaking on Tuesday, March 16 in the session titled Saving Society From Deep Fakes, a Practical Policy Agenda Agenda for today. I'm super excited for this session as Deepfakes are something that many of us have been in conversation about here on Swell. And I just find it utterly fascinating. So will you say a bit about yours personal and professional experience with The Deep Fakes?

The future of cybersecurity

Next, I'd love to hear more about how you first became interested in matters of cybersecurity in particular. And I'm curious from your perspective, what you think are going to be the most pressing issue in relation to cyber security in the future

And, of course, those issues just sort of like, remain in the back of my mind as I went on with my career and ended up becoming a lawyer and entering private practice. And then in 2016, with the election, there was all that concern about Russian disinformation efforts across social media to swing the election for President Trump. And I started writing about those issues. And then it occurred to me that there were very serious ramifications for the private sector as well. Those dangers were all the greater

The future of #cybersecurity is #IOT :)

Our portraits are framed frames rather, are going to talk to our digital cameras on our phones, to upload photographs in the frames on the wall. Our cars are going to talk to our radios and our playlists. They're also going to talk to our charging stations. So there's just going to be this interconnectedness of CyberLife. And of course, that's very convenient in many ways

It's just the ability to focus and to give concern and attention to each other, and whether it's something we're reading, whether it's a person we're speaking with, whether it's a loved one is really the most valuable thing that we have. David Foster Wallace actually talked about this, and he died long before much of the social media revolution ever occurred

Here’s the link to Wallace’s speech https://s.swell.life/SSRTc4MK88Zv96k

I wanted to add the Web address for the David Foster Wallace speech that I referenced in my last swell. And this is the speech in which David Foster Wallace discusses attention and consciousness and compassion. And I think it's pretty awesome. So let me put that in here for all those who might be interested

@MatthewFFerraro Wow! #IOT

Wow the Matthew before I continue, I just need to react to one IoT I will remember for forever now. So thank you. And then two, this idea about our personal media becoming like like abstract paintings and your hope for us to still be able to somehow have a shared reality just really hit me and blew my mind about some of these big questions we're facing when it comes to the future of cybersecurity, our interconnectedness, Privacy, meaning, point of view and reality

@MatthewFFerraro Thank you!

I really appreciated your top three takeaways, and it made me smile because it was just so refreshing to hear such a balanced view of where we are currently with technology and media. And I loved that you then linked to this particular speech by David Foster Wallace. It's actually a speech that I have listened to and read multiple times, and I can't tell you exactly when I first heard of it
