Marketing and sales strategies for books - Writing and Beyond

article image placeholderUploaded by @Binati_Sheth
It is a bail, okay? It is a blessing. You just have to figure out what platform you are comfortable with and what format you are comfortable with. On, say, ticktock, sorry, book ticktock or book. Twitter or BookTube or book. YouTube or bookstagram. Or book instagram. What works is different on each platform, right? Say, for example, on TikTok and Instagram, visual appeal is important. Aesthetics are extremely important for people to interact with your content more

To bring in the analogy of a garden or gardening. Before you want your garden to thrive, right, you need to, first of all, have a nice fertile land. You need to have land. It has to be fertile. Then you have to take care of it. Then you have to plant the seeds. Then you have to nourish them, and then you have to watch it grow. Okay, so marketing your book is like planting of seeds

Ask us anything :)

Also start and join virtual book clubs. These are people you know for a fact who read and buy books. Then there is the whole algorithmic jiber jabber of uploading your book and marketing it for free for a few hours. But that is as well for another day

Hi. So this is really, really informative. And I think the main crux of, you know, marketing or promoting a book or maybe even PR, I think the main crux of it all is actually connecting with and understanding your audience first, locating who your audience is and then connecting with them. And that's how the entire thing should be strategies. And I think you made that very clear through your points

@Aishani

So you summarized the whole thing wonderfully. One of the main reasons I don't use words like target audience know I don't know what is it with authors but they hear like market specific words and they freak out like a cat that that has seen water. I don't know why, but asking people to locate their target audience and then target it, it sounds very intimidating. But tell people to have interests connect with the audiences, the prospective audiences based on interests and then tell them about your book

But I love this fact and I have lots of ideas now from this well on how to start putting out those breadcrumbs and letting folks know that this is a work in progress and I will have a book I'm really excited to and really excited along with really terrified, I think, to share these pieces of me

@vanessaragains Congratulations on starting the book 😍

I know that's not a good outlook to have, maybe, but I have one life I want to chill. So it's not a topic I'm invested in. But then I am invested in the success of the book because I've been following that newsletter and like, Ali talking about finding some research which is not leading to any place, finding some research that is keeping him awake at night, whatever. Just random bits of nonfiction goodness, which is technically behind the scenes of a book

You. Hi dear. I'm so happy that you fell on this topic, or rather I can say that I just landed on your topic by chance and probably the universe conspired because I needed it. I am almost about to launch a book probably by November, and I have no idea, no clue about marketing. What I have done is probably, you know what?
