To give or not to give?

article image placeholderUploaded by @Bendi_G
The mothers the parents should know better. The parents shouldn't be treating their children like this. But equally, the mothers look in a very desperate situation. They look impoverished, they look unwell. But during lockdown, the young man I'm helping was pretty much starving. He couldn't afford to eat. He had no money. He would maybe have one meal a day, sometimes even less. Wouldn't even have that. Would just survive on what he had

Should I give to street beggars or not? Do you give? What are your thoughts? #india #poverty #askswell

The other way of doing it is, of course, identifying an authentic, verified charitable organization. And there are a few and they're doing a very good job. The numbers are overwhelming given the population that I mentioned a while earlier, but they're doing a good job in the sense they are deploying. Like there are acid attack victims

And despite our best attempts and intentions, it just doesn't work right. And so we get on with it. But in our own little way, if you want to help someone, then those kind of options and opportunities are open and available. What of caution? Like I mentioned before, I don't want to consult someone who is informed, who has a neutral point of view, is an authority and is verifiable and auditable

But I'm up for the challenge if you want it, if you're curious to know. But again, thank you very much for your very detailed response. And don't apologize about renting. I'm a renter, too. Nothing wrong with a good rent. You rent away

The camera would pan the entire area, if you will. And metaphorically speaking, not literally so there is life beyond Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Calcutta and Kolkata and Chennai. So there is life. And if you know south of India, well, then Kurg is a beautiful place. Leila Dark is a beautiful place. Those are seldom highlighted. I know tourism. India is trying to do a better job in marketing the country

But I do think you're right as well, that there is perhaps a marketing issue, because if I'm entirely honest with you, when I lived in Britain, when I lived in Europe, we very rarely see anything about India on television. Occasionally there might be a documentary, but usually it is in some way looking at it from a perspective of look at how impoverished it is
