What type of Responder are you here on Swell?

article image placeholderUploaded by @FryedOreo
When using swell, you might come across the post that you'll be inclined to respond to. But in doing so, you may notice there are replies already on the post. Are you the type of person that will listen to those replies first before you decide to respond? Or will you respond anyway?

What’s your preference?

@Ronisha

So about this swell. Did you okay, so I think you're well, Vernetia, thank you for taking the time to listen to this as well and also offer an audio response. What made you respond to this if you didn't see anybody reply yet? What made you just decide? You know what? I'm just going to respond anyway. I know anybody else here yet? But I'm going to say something

I'm not the type of person that's gonna just respond whether someone's there or not. I'm just the type of person I'm going to respond if I want to respond. And I'm like, that's a good question. So I'm like, I'm going to respond

Okay, Ronisha. Okay. I see you. I see you. And that's kind of the way how I am. I'm just gonna say something anyway. But sometimes I repeat what other people repeat because I don't really listen to of responses right away. But you're new to not anchor, but swell. You're new here, right? Welcome to the show. Hopefully you enjoy it and you get out of this what you expected and not expected

That was so funny. But thank you for welcoming me. I feel like this is a good platform. Like, I've been looking for something like this. Like, I want to start my own podcast. Whatever. I don't know. Everyone thinks I'm funny and stuff. Like, I don't know. I'm the type person. I voice my opinion. I don't know. I'm just me down earth outgoing

Probably the best way to do it. You can do it right from your phone. Don't need fancy equipment, nothing like that. But I'm promote an anchor and they're not paying me. Nothing is ever new

Snap, the video things are not long enough. And that's why I got to keep posting and posting the posts, because those are little short mini clips. But by the time you put all those clips together, you got a whole five minutes. Yeah, but I love Snapchat. I could post. I could be free. I can stay what I want, do what I want. Yeah

Hello. I'm usually late to the party because I get on. I post and go do other things. And then sometimes I don't respond at all because I feel like it's too late. Eight. Like, by time I do see a response. But I don't know. I used to respond and then I go back and listen. And then sometimes I'll be like, wow, they kind of said it's something similar. Maybe I should have listed first

It's. First off, Soul Candy J, I appreciate your response, but just want to let you know your audio was really off. There was a lot of friction there. It sounded like maybe the connection wasn't good, I'm not really sure. But listen back to it and you'll be out here. I've had that happen to me before, but Oreo, that is fried. Once again, you come with an interesting Swell. I really appreciate this one

And the reason why I'm intentional about about that is because I want to give my uncolored, authentic, original response like, I heard your Swell cast, this is how my brain interpreted it. This is how it landed for me. And I'm speaking from whatever maximum medium limited to nonexistent experience or knowledge base I have on the topic

Bro. Great topic, great question. I'm a horrible responder, but lately I've been able to sit still and, you know, listen to swell. I've been going through swells and listening to them and responding to London and a couple of other people on here because like her CESU said, it was a very engaging topic, just like this one. And you always have a very good post

So this is a casual medium, I find, where it's a five minute max to get your point across, but I do find that it can broach podcast territory sometimes. I find it fascinating some people want to start a podcast where h***, it's podcast here already happening on the daily. But I understand where they're coming from. And when I do say something that someone else has said, I do find I say it in a different way
@FryedOreo

And you should kind of have a more concentrated effort to understand your audience as opposed to just speaking at them. But there is something to be said about that as well, I believe that can be useful or beneficial. But you said you would just respond anyway, inspire the responses. Yeah, because I do find sometimes it'll be interesting where people I'll have a post, right?

Thank you for not only taking the time to listen to this swell, but to also offer an audio response. And I almost didn't need to hear your response already knew what type of responder you were. You respond to everything even if you don't know what it's about. So that to me it tells a lot about your character and your personality as well. In one that you tend to not discriminate

But the next one first it was like through them, I think she said they went out somewhere and he was talking to another girl and she was like, oh, don't take them, please. But at the same time she had let it be known that that's not what she was looking for. And then the texting and her just not knowing if this really what I should be doing, or should we just be talking on the phone?

And I've even seen plenty of your posts that people don't listen to, even though you got lots of followers. But I remember one I responded to and you and me ended up having a really good back and forth. And it's cool that it can just be two people. So I really appreciate that. But, yeah, it's a really interesting app

Nothing beats having that idea in your mind and being able to put it out there in the world and it was exactly what you thought it was. Like you exactly executed every rhythm and cadence that you had thought you wanted to do for it. But anyway, as far as Discoverability, I think it's ubiquitous on here

Hey, Dewuan. Yes. So let me clarify what I was my goal of what I was trying to articulate is that I respond to everyone's well catching test, whether they invite me or not. I'll respond if I see it, whether I see it because I came across it by just randomly scrolling or by accident or it was on the homepage. It somehow shows up in my notifications

Oh, okay. I understand what you're saying. Like, in regards to someone, they heard something you said and they respond in a post that you were in, and they respond to it, but they don't at you. I think sometimes they're maybe a bit too lazy to add in those cases. I really don't add all that much unless I'm actually directly responding to the post. But I get what you're saying. I get what you're saying. I feel you

Late to this swell but I no longer listen to responses before composing my own

And then over time, I limited that to people I wanted to hear opinions from and then eventually to just straight to replying. The reason for that is because I feel like when you start listening to everybody else's responses, you sometimes get influenced yourself. And if you're being influenced, then I feel like your thoughts aren't your own thoughts, they're your own thoughts, but they're influenced thoughts, which I don't feel are genuine

I like to respond to the origin swell first then possibly responses 😁

Good morning Dewuan. This is a fun swell. That's funny. That's tricky, right? Because if they're well, there, I really want to know what the person was saying. So I I listened to theirs and then I'd stop at it immediately before it goes into all the responses, and then I'll make my reply. But also, sometimes people are seeing other things that are really interesting, and I might want to respond to that

@PKBriggs

But obviously with my own post, I listen to all those because I want to respond, because I'm all about the conversation. But, yeah, my simple rule is that I really don't listen to too much responses on other posts. Even after I've made my response, I kind of will leave the conversation because my job is done. I think I had a conversation with Seeking Plum about this before. I think Average Joe, I remember talking with him about that before
@LionessFelicia
I would say that I'm the type of responder. I try to listen to all of the responses, but sometimes it's just too many. So I went through quite a few responses on this particular post, and it is way too many. But I guess that makes me the type of responder. Well, I'll listen to some of them and then I'll just respond with my own answer. I don't know
1

@LionessFelicia

Yes, I would say there can be a lot of responses on my post because I tend to preference the conversation, but some just like to make post and they do get responses, but due to the fact that no one is responding back, they tend to kind of just do their own thing. But there could be situations where people could have their own conversations in the thread that's outside of the original post, but I guess it's all inspirational at the end of the day

And then I'll try to explain it the best way I can, but I know it's me. I would try to analyze it as if I'm there. What if I was there? And I think it would be easier to explain it if I'm there. So I try to mentally take myself there, either inside of the content creators, either inside of the content creators mine, or the content itself. Right. I try to put myself inside of that content
1
@OmegaStrange

@OmegaStrange · 3:33
I feel like because I worry too much about, well, I'm going to say something that another content creator said or you think I swell, listen, so I can avoid that, which I do, but when there's like already eight responders, I'm not going to go through the whole list. It's just going to screw me up. I'd rather just if I end up saying the same thing, then so be it

But that happens to me with my post actually getting responses where as I'm responding to somebody and I hit reply and it loads up, I see that there's another reply. So it's like oh okay, cool. But yeah, it's that's cool, man, it's cool that your style is like that and I guess it makes sense as to your level of responding and also the aspect of you putting yourself in other people's shoes. I thought that was interesting to hear
