What would you do if you won the lottery?

And because of the very intricate way I'm describing this, you can probably tell I don't really play this lottery very often, but I guess the way it works is if no one wins in that week, then it rolls over and continues, and then somehow money is added to the pot. And I think it starts at $2 million or $4 million, and it can grow, and I think it grows exponentially

I would not want to spend the money that I got right as soon as I got it because I know I'd be doing some really bad not proper spending at all. I probably make after a bit, I'd probably make like a little budget thing out of it. Like putting in this much percent into the bank to keep it first later, or maybe even invest in it, I don't know. And then have some percentage for myself, some percentage for my family and things like that

But a friend of mine, a colleague of mine was describing they're not necessarily buying spending the dollar, a couple of dollars because they think they'll win the lottery, but for them it's paying for a chance to imagine what it would be like to win. And I guess you don't need the ticket to imagine. But I like that explanation. It's a little hit of dopamine, right?

And so it was interesting to me that you even said it would be put in a trust. It would be kind of a small amount so they wouldn't blow it all. And you would kind of have still this reserve that you can at least kind of put into their pot if they needed. But from this specific lottery, it was like $1.3 billion. I found out later, and you're right

For me, I'm just thinking about what I'm not doing now that I could do, that I would easily do with money, but I could do differently without the money. But you still create the same experience. A lot of themes are coming up, making sure we take care of the funds we have, whatever they are, and also caring for those we love. And it also comes to mind for me that experiences are everything

Giving people fishing poles, not fish. Deborah I love that, and I'm going to come back to that. And I totally agree with where your heads up, bertie, thanks for response. And I really enjoyed listening to your experience of going to the race track and and everything being paid for. You didn't really come away with much, but you didn't really have to give much. It's just like a special experience

I told myself that if I somehow stumbled into a ton of money during this weird trip we call life, I would really want to start a foundation in support of first generation college students. Because being a first gen student myself, I've seen how education 100% can lead to upward mobility and having a better quality of life potentially if you are not only incredibly hard working and privileged enough that you are able bowie and able to overwork in the ways that our culture expects and also luck
