Why does the left indulge in censorship?

If the lifts, ideas and policies are so wonderful and perfect in every way, so superior to anything else why are they so afraid of other ideas that they have to suppress them? You would think they would welcome the opportunity to demonstrate the brilliance of their ideology in comparison to what they see as lesser lights

The leftists are anti-diversity when it comes t ideas.

If those weren't in place, well, we'd be doing all sorts of things with our vehicles all over the place. I also think sometimes that we underestimate the power of our voice, of the words that we share and things that we put out there, in that the image that comes to mind is a drop of water is simply a drop of water

And it's not about finger pointing as much as it is about understanding the impetus of why people really need to put staff in place. We just have to look at history. History is our teacher

Jeez. You are all over the place with nonsensical analogies, and, well, I've noticed this style of argument from the left theft. You throw in all kinds of non sectors that you seem to think are relevant, and I think you do that to camouflage the lack of a cogent argument. I would suggest that you take a look at the meaning of censorship, because needing a license to drive a car is not censorship. It's not a constitutional right to drive a car without a license

Sometimes I think I should come with a warning sign. Apologies? I took the title of your spell literally. I thought you were coming at the topic from a place of curiosity and wanting conversation. How or another missed that. Maybe you were just sharing your thoughts or perhaps even laying the groundwork for a debate. And I have little interest in entering that kind of a conversation, so I'm going to bow out. But I will say I was attempting to communicate the spirit of a few ideas

Hi. So, no, I wasn't looking to debate, necessarily, but I am always open to one. I posed that question question gave my thoughts about what was on my mind in regard to that question, and I'm not sure what kind of response I was looking for, but I was just curious to know yes, curious to know if anyone else had a different answer to that question. Well, I'm kind of surprised that you didn't want to debate
@SeekingPlumb

@natchril

Well, then it's a dynamic set up of us versus them or you versus me, and I didn't want that. I know many find satisfaction or even a sense of empowerment from doing debates. I do think they have their time and place. But generally speaking, I'm all about the discovery and the exploration and what wanting to understand, even if I don't agree with a different perspective

And I think we've covered that. I don't think we just go around. I think we both made our points about it and there's no sense in beating that dead horse. So I'd like to know why do you think the left is indulging censorship when I say the left, not because the left is in power. If the right was in power and had been taken over by extremists, as the Left has been, I would ask why is the Right indulging in censorship?

You speak the truth sir

Like when it comes to corporate America or the people that I'm around, like the people in my apartment complex that I live in now, they don't need to know what my opinions are on politics. So because of the fact that pretty much what you said, is there's a possibility that that's going to happen, it's just going to cause problems between me and these people of like, well, this guy should be sensor kind of thing on here

Good Stuff! However…

Yeah, it's good. You don't yeah, right. You can't go around I don't know whether soapbox and announcing broadcasting your political views to everyone, but however, just want to clear the air about the different ideologies. I'm not sure what you had in mind when you talked about them as commingling. I don't see that. I don't see the left and the right, capitalism, socialism, they're different. They're separate, but they have a role to play

🤔

So, yeah, I think the right and the left are just as guilty of censorship, and it's a human thing. Humans tend to find stuff that they feel is inappropriate and will try to change it. It's been happening since the dawn of time, and it won't stop now

And I said that if the Right was in power, it had become taken over by extremists just as the Left has. Then I would be citing the Right in this instance for censorship. Of course they both indulge in censorship. Look at the McCarthy. McCarthyism, that was outrageous. So, yeah, they're both prone to this kind of censorship. But things like you bring up the Catholic Church, I mean, that's not censorship. They don't censor anything
