Happier is a choice

article image placeholderUploaded by @Binati_Sheth
And I think now I am realizing that happiness isn't exactly a choice. Happy year is a choice. And I realized this while I was watching like people who have seemingly unfortunate lives, they are so happy and people with luck and fortune shining upon them, being absolutely miserable in their palaces and their grandeur. I was trying to make sense out of both of these very drastic realities and the associated emotions to them

Whether we're saying it's a once and done or it just is, where stomping has no beginning and no ending. It's ongoing. And so I sort of think of happiness as that single stomp. It exists, but it's contained and happier feels like it's this ongoing process, right? It's fluid because our mood, our state of mind of being and so on are fluid. And happier is always then a choice from wherever we might be starting from

What a brilliant metaphor. I absolutely love the Stomping metaphor. That's perfectly explained. And I would agree. I would know. I definitely agree with everything he said. It for once, I have nothing to say. Which is something that rarely happens with us. So, yeah, we have achieved a new milestone

Hi, Bennett. You are right. You know, I have seen people who have, you know, who have so little in life staying so much happier and and sharing whatever they have with others. And I think you are bang on when you say that happier is a choice and not happiness. Happiness is perhaps acceptance of the circumstances. Right. That is perhaps the first step. And happier is then definitely a choice. Wow. I can't imagine getting to that state. Right. Staying happier

And would this principle apply if, say, I was down with some terrible illness at the hospital? Would happiness is a choice even hold good? Would I be evolved enough to seek out and hold on to that tiny ray of hope, that baseline happiness that you were talking about, to feel any happier about my current situation? But if I were to look at it from a different perspective so I am not in a great situation, I have a huge problem at hand

And what is that beautiful piece of art on the Swell image?

Hey, I'm really curious to know what that beautiful piece of art is that you've used as the cover image for this swell. Looks like something sort of a cross between a fun and a bits of grass and some sort of fabric. So do tell me what that is

Having a baseline of what makes you happy changes as you age. Whereas happiness as a whole, for people, there's a priority. Every one of us has something that we desire and want, and I think that will anchor what makes us happy as a whole. So that will not change, but happier, right? That baseline thing, that will keep changing. Like, say, for example, I had decided to keep dinner. You are like, oh, my God, yes, dinner

Hi, I hope you're doing great. I have been listening the podcast. It's pretty amazing. I would say the topic you choose is actually a topic of discussion. We should talk about it more. And the way you portray everything is very well. You bring for such a positive confidence in me, I would say. And for me, what has happened is having a peace in my mind. Getting a stable life is actually a happier thing for me

Whereas when you let go, when you choose to be happier, when you choose to be happier, what happens is you're like, okay, I'm letting go. And in doing so, I think it's a version of having, like, an open mind, open heart, right? This is something I have been thinking a lot about for, I think, three, four years, and I still don't have an answer
