Family is just people with the same blood/genes right? Let's dive in!

And I say that because back then it was okay for a family member to be horrible to everybody because they're blood and nobody's going to have your back like family does. But something I've come to realize, and I think this is because I'm not as close with my extended family. Like my nuclear family I'm pretty close with, but my extended family. I grew up with my cousins, but not really. I saw them maybe once a year, sometimes not at all

I have a theory that in our future, we will see more people detaching from familial importance and begin to dive into making social groups

@Freshslade Found my tribe ♥️

And I have a very boundary relationship with my mother because she's a narcissist. I don't actually feel very connected to the rest of my family either. I feel like they're not my sort of people that understand me. I'm a lot more open minded and socialistic and creative, and I've got loads of LGBTQIA plus friends, for example. And I don't really go by the normal paradigm of relationships and things like that

And that's why I think it's interesting that a friend can take that role of a brother or sister because they're so much more in tune, they care more and they're just more present which makes all the difference because then you start to realize like wow, this person makes me feel amazing and they're not blood at all. And yet we are supposed to consider family as like or at least blood related
