Why I am plant based

And I remember before I turned 45, maybe on the cusp of 40, I suggested to my doctor at the time that maybe I wanted to try this vegan diet. My brother was a vegan for about ten years. He advocated it and seemed to be doing well. And my doctor was like, oh no, it's not getting carried away. And he suggested something called the tiger diet that he called and he was like, you don't see a tiger eating a vegetable. Tigers eat meat

And maybe we can have other people can weigh in on the discussion. A couple of things. When a vegetarian or a vegan goes out to eat with a group of people, they typically do ask, right? Or let's say they go over to a family for dinner and they say they know you're a vegan. The first thing the person who is hosting is they want to make sure they have something appropriate for you to eat. And I think that's great, whatever

And then I ended up going more vegetarian, pescetarian vegetarian, and then vegan for, I don't know, maybe a year or two years, and then stayed pretty heavy vegetarian for another year and a half. And now I eat more kind of whatever my body is wanting. I can say that when I went vegetarian and vegan, I noticed that my body would heal and process things a lot faster. I didn't have the sluggishness, I didn't feel lethargic

You are just killing it on this response here. I think it's right on. I think there's great things in being a vegan, and I think there's eating just vegetables or the meat based carnivore diet. If I had to take anything from your response and then what gentleman said about being Hawaii vegan, I think what we really need to concentrate on is understanding

Hey, thanks for your response. Yeah, I mean, it's so important. You nailed it again. And what constitutes the label of being vegan versus healthy? And, you know, you even shine some light on the the fact that there's many meat based or animal based products that do the exact same. It's just such an interesting thing

I think I mentioned whole food plant based diet, which I'm very careful not to use the V word because like I said, I don't like to beat my chest on that sort of thing. Whole foods, plant based means exactly that, right. We try to avoid processed foods and things like that as well. So I do agree with you, meat based diet guy on inflammatory things

I hope to be a flexitarian most of my life and in my own home, I choose to cook my own things. I also was joking with a friend a couple of months ago when she asked me what my restrictions are. I said, it's interesting. I'm sort of a Charitarian because I think I have a little bit of a sense of like wanting enzymes to be in my body all the time

But we got to remember, even the doctors, they're trying to find a way for themselves to survive in this world, where they have to pay for food, gas and houses, just like everything else. So if I leave it with anything and that is the phrase take control of your health, that way you're not dependent on anyone else to do that for you. So that's all I got. I think this is a great conversation

Hey, again, thanks for replying and the conversation and yeah, I think it's one thing. Mr. Meat, I guess, is what Deborah called you and I can agree on, is, you know, probably processed foods and things like that, they're not good for you, and you should take control of your diet, whatever that is. Like I said, we go on opposite ends of the spectrum, and things work for us differently, obviously
