Merging Learning to Read with Learning to Love Books!

article image placeholderUploaded by @BkQue
I spent countless hours in percolating thought trying to problem solve a way in which I as a teacher and a librarian could mesh teaching children to read with growing readers to read lots of books. As well as to find a way to construct a repertoire of classic book titles in their minds so as to retrieve whenever selecting books to read in the library and checking out books. And at book fairs and at bookstores when purchasing books to read. Thereby acquiring a thirst for reading. Igniting a culture of reading

Also, I do believe that falling in love with books, it's important you expand your vocabulary, your imagination. It's such a powerful resource to be able to not only read, but to comprehend what you have read. You're not just skimming through it to try to get to the point, to get skip to the good part, but you're actually reading how a story or in a book can just take you through and you can escape

Thank you for this swell and thank you for your contribution as a former educator, librarian and adding to our literature base for our youth and and also adults who are navigating learning the English language and speaking English. I think going to the library is slightly different now for students because everyone has access to electronic devices or most people have access to electronic devices. So it changes the landscape slightly. Human language is so important
