Should India be having a day of mourning for the Queen of England?

article image placeholderUploaded by @Bendi_G
But should we be mourning, particularly fawning, over this woman, like so many people in Britain are in their north? Koreike brainwashed obsession with this family here in India. Should we be going along with that? Isn't it a terrible insult to those many people in India who stood up against British oppression and suppression that we now say we're going to mourn the loss of this woman on Sunday? What do you evening?

This Sunday, India will be having a day pf national mourning for the death of The Queen of England. But should it?

So satisfy, for instance, which I'm not sure if you're aware, it's basically about when a bride sort of jumps into the funeral power when she loses her husband. There are a lot of outdated and antiquated customs which the British did away with. I feel like I'm a product of colonialism because I'm not sure I would have been educated in the English language if the British hadn't been there. Infrastructurally India, the British sort of invented roads and all of that

So that could also be one more reason that has perhaps influenced the government's decision to declare a national day of mourning. Anyway, I ardently pray for Queen Elizabeth. Sold. Rest in peace

She had a set of rules under which she had to carry her duties. But yes, with that country, we have a past. They have ruled upon us, they have been torturous. But we have somewhere gained also in terms of language and railways. And many things are even now followed by how the British have set it up. So, yes, the influence and some of the admin that happens in the country has the reflection of how they used to work

@Bendi_G we shouldn’t mourn them dying. We should mourn their existence

And I don't think I can forgive that. I didn't really face any of the consequences of the colony colony because I was born in 1993, but I had relatives, I had great grandparents on both sides, alive for a very long time. Both sets lived way past 90. These things and the stories they told, it was heartbreaking. The fact that, yeah, we should not mourn their death

Hey, Benedict, don't overthink this. Look, she was the official head of state of the United Kingdom, right? And I think she died in the sandal. So I think it's just a way to show your solidarity with the country. We don't have any hard feelings anymore. What happened, happened in the past. I think the morning is just that ahead of state inside India and UK. No allies. So it's not a big deal to me. I don't care

If they want to have the day to mourn, then let them be. But, yes, it would be I think it would be a bit strange for them to mourn her death, at least what she represents. But, you know, hey, maybe they forgave the history of the royal family, but it is a bit weird that she may even be buried with stolen jewels. So, yeah, it's a bit strange. But, yeah. Peace out, man. You

It just didn't work out, so they have to leave. So we won our independence fair and square after the independent struggle. Chand so I think there aren't any hard feelings now. Britain is an ally. The United Kingdom is an Indian ally. Diplomacy calls for mourning the passing of the head of state, and that's pretty much it. India is, this morning the death of the head of state. We would have shown similar reciprocity or gesture to almost any country

Hi. I think I completely agree with you. I think knowing what happened historically with the British Crown in India, I think it's a moral obligation, in fact, that that we shouldn't even be talking about this. There's really never been any formal apology, as far as I know, for the Bengal famine or for many of the things that happened during Colonial Road, although I know that Elizabeth was not directly responsible and it was her predecessors in the British Crown

But how long are you going to be resentful? And I'm sure having a day of mourning for the Queen is not a random act. I'm sure there is protocol that is, current head of state dies in power. Then India can show solidarity with the people of that country by flying the triangle half mast. So I'm sure it's not a random act. I personally, as an Indian, don't feel the Brits need to give us an apology
