An Interview with Dr. Anthony Kaveh

And he is passionate about helping people understand how we can stay out of hospitals during this period, meaning even if we get coveted, how can we stay healthy? How can we live lives that boost our immune systems. So I'm going to just put together a series of questions. And this is a conversation where I'll put the question out there. He will answer, and we'll just grow from what each answer brings to mind. So it's very organic

Now, returning to our Yin and Yang model, a poisoned environment stacks the deck against the individual or the Yin component to our health. One of the wonders of the human body is its incredible potential to heal itself. However, this is severely limited when the environment robs the individual from that self healing opportunity. Excuses like they need to work harder or they just need to exercise more and eat less are simply false and naive. We should now all understood. Sorry, we should now all understand

But you are a doctor, you are a practitioner, and I want to focus on the body and the medicine and the approach and the personal empowerment part of this

I'll put a link to what that top ten list is, but as you can all imagine, it does center around processed foods such as grain based desserts, cakes, cookies, Donuts, et cetera, breads, pizza, energy drinks, sodas, et cetera. And while calories are not the focus here, it is the source of where those calories are coming from, which is what I want to draw attention to

Thank you so much for illuminating the specifics of incremental ideas around starting from a very small goal and reaching that goal. And I know that sounds obvious, but the truth is, when you do it with in partnership, it makes a big difference. And I just love how you frame that, introducing the idea of mindset. Obviously, it really goes along with shifts in how we perceive our own capacity to change. And that personal empowerment piece that we talk about

Circadian rhythm and #covid-19

Looking into circadian rhythm and COVID and whether people who are intensely affected by COVID have an unusual circadian rhythm. I wondered if there is any research being done on this, and the only reason I ask is because of the cytokine response failure noted in children who have not gotten critically ill due to Covet, and I wanted to know what your thoughts on this was

Circadian rhythm: critical roles in medicine but no definitive COVID links

This may be one reason why older adults are more susceptible to severe infection because their melatonin levels typically decrease. And lastly, to your point about Dex, methazone, and steroids, all steroids are known to disrupt sleep and oncology patients are not Unsurprisingly prone to having insomnia, particularly during the time of their medical treatment

#vitamind

And as somebody who spends a lot of time in Northern Hemispheres where I don't get a lot of sunlight, especially in the winter. Vitamin D is something I've always kind of paid attention to and taken a supplement when it's low. But I also know vitamin D. If you take too much, it could actually do more harm than good. So vitamin D has always been one of the vitamin levels that I track within my own body here

Vitamin D is an evolving topic, even pre-COVID!

That's a great question. This is challenging because we're still learning a lot about vitamin D, and it's controversial because of changes in definitions of normal levels, differences based on race and potential harms with oversupply. Other why we care about vitamin D is because it may be involved with numerous medical conditions such as osteoporosis, rheumatoid, arthritis, cardiovascular disease, diabetes. And, as you've pointed out, general immune system health

A public platform for messaging : what would you like to see change?

Doctor, we're noticing obviously an uptick which people predicted in terms of covid 19 spreading and more people getting sick and more hospital beds being used and governors and mayors are trying to slow us down from being with each other. So people are going back inside. They're being more careful, hopefully. And it's a time when people need to continue to sort of reflect upon their lifestyles and what they could do if they are in fact, prone to reflecting
