CHANGE YOUR PITCH WHEN YOU SPEAK- IT NOT ONLY SOUNDS MORE INTERESTING BUT IT ADDS TO VOCAL ENDURANCE!

article image placeholderSS_SpeakingSchool_Episode_09.jpg
Hello and welcome to lesson nine of the speaking school today. I want to talk about changing your pitch as you speak, or what's known as prosody, the use of prosody in conversation connected speech. So most of us are very aware of people who speak in a monotone, and we also are probably, if we know anyone like that, aware of how that makes us feel as listeners

https://s.swell.life/SSFEJbG1cS4Ey2d Prosody, or changes in vocal pitch when we speak , is a great add on to a tired or boring voice ! Learn why !

Hey, I second this when you said about going deep when you're really tired, but the idea of changing your pitch to sound more interesting, and even if you're tired, you can move it a little bit, and you can get people to feel the animation in your mind come through your voice. And I really love this tip so much

I have missed classes but love the practical advice, look forward to more

So it's just to vary the tone and to be more sing song, not singsongy, but conscious of it, even to the point of being dramatic. You know what I do that is when I'll try to be cute and funny, and I've tried to do like a sign off all the time because it's awkward to end as well. For me, I don't know if I'm signing off on a voicemail or saying goodbye to community or like a formal goodbye

I'm happy and everything because if you don't like, if you sound tired, like in a call, they're going to be like, sometimes I need to convince them not to cancel something or to change their membership or something. Yeah, the voice important is very important to keep a good conversation. I'm going to try this. I will try, but I don't know much about I know people who already learn about music. They have some exercises to their voice

@Brooke415, @ZikaLunar12 - responding to your posts!

It's not coffee, it's not black tea, it's water. We need to keep the mucosal tissue nice and hydrated to prevent fatigue. So I wouldn't be surprised if you were fatigued at the end of the day. Also, when we're in call centers there, even though we have usually people are talking into a headset. There's competing background sound. So remember, you're competing against background sound. Your voice is going to get tired. You're going to need to rest
