CONNECTING THE BREATH TO THE VOICE, SLOWING DOWN AND HOW MASK WEARING RELATES !

article image placeholderSS_SpeakingSchool_Episode_08.jpg
Anyhow I want to carry on with that thought and give some suggestions as to how to continue with this idea of taking your time when you're speaking. So, yes, putting down some notes so that you're able to stay with your train of thought is a useful one. We talked about that. I want to talk about kind of getting connected with the voice and the breath around this idea of speaking slowly

https://s.swell.life/SSEv12PBkAqmAeE it all goes back to the breath and how a good supportive breath helps slow us down. Also masks muffle us !

Family dynamics ;)

It's so interesting. You talked about what forms our speaking patterns early in our lives. And I grew up with three older sisters, and I used to have this joke where if I wanted the salt to be passed at the dining room table with everyone talking, I wouldn't say, Excuse me, would you please pass the salt? I would say password, and that translates to pass assault. But I said it fast to get in between everyone else's words

Woops!

Whoops I realized I didn't change my username from Spotlight to Deborah. So I apologize. I'm still going to keep that up there. But that was Deborah talking, not the official Spotlight channel. It's hard to keep our identity straight these days, isn't it
