You Are Introducing Yourself Wrong!

article image placeholderUploaded by @SpeakerDees
What if I were to tell you that the way you introduce yourself is probably wrong and there are a few things I can teach you that will help you improve it? Here we go. Too many times when I'm out networking, meeting new people, no matter where it is, we do the same thing. We say, my name is and we give our job title. My name is Jerome and I'm a consultant. My name is Jerome and I'm am a VP of Sales

So thanks for putting those super insightful and helpful tips here, and I hope that I can find more from you in the future. And I will also continue to consider practicing this and seeing maybe if I practice for a little bit, I can come back and let you know how it goes

#Introductions #Greetings

Your freshman year, you will take a class, and part of that class, Syllabus, is learning to introduce yourself. We called it the famous formula. If you meet almost anyone from FAMU who's been in, I would say, the last two decades, they are very familiar with the famous greeting

@dobbsty

I really appreciate your note back. It's very interesting. It's one of those things that we really don't think about until we need it. And at that point where we need to show that confidence in our value and our strengths to others, it's almost too late. So I hope I wish you luck in putting something together. And if you feel brave enough to come back and share it with us at some point, I'd love to give feedback

@TalkWithAnna

I have a technique called Present, Past, Future, and it's a way to keep conversations going. And it's funny because I run into people occasionally that also know that techniques you get into this back and forth where it's almost comical because you both know what you're doing, but somehow it still allows you to connect a little bit more and to get through the process. Absolutely love this. I look forward to hearing you practice what I shared at some point in the future

Cars passing, water, running, whatever I'm doing at that time. If I listen to this well, how it resonates with me in that moment, I am using this tool to perfect my impromptu response, my initial reaction response. And the reason why is because I am speaking different places. Now, I provide virtual services through my business and at times, as I present information that I've prepared for, there are times that the audience have other questions

Wow

It's my greatest strength, and I'm not going to sacrifice that for anyone. So that's my greatest strength. And, yeah, I'm just curious to know what you would tell me about how I introduce myself, because this is such a phenomenal swell, and I'm so glad that I actually popped up on it today because I haven't been on swell in a while, been quite busy. So I look forward to hearing from you
