It skipped some members of my family, but it does run in my family. And it is a type of disease that is very heavily stigmatized because a person doesn't look like they have diabetes. And it's not a quote unquote fat person's disease because like my husband had told me, and like other people told me, erica, you don't weigh much. I mean, it looks like your weight came down
I should mean for my height, I shouldn't be weighing the weight that I have now and I don't exercise and my eating habits are not the best, so, ah, definitely I need to take care of that because if it's I forget which type is the worst one. Like my mom, she has to take insulin so hopefully mine isn't as bad. I do need to start working out

So I'm over here thinking I'm doing the right thing and it was because of the diabetes. So I'm technically not sure what kind I have. Based on research, I believe I have type two, but there are some people who live in between and they manage it. I think it's called type 1.5. So it's a beautiful thing that your church has a gem, especially a church

It's this scary thing that when you're told that you have a disease that is not going to go away and that is progressive because I have one, it is a shock to the system and I understand that. And you are so brave because you just found this out and here you are sharing. So just thank you

Right now, I already had to do kind of like an overhaul in my kitchen and get different food, and I did this with a frown on my face because now I can't just eat and enjoy, which I'm sure I will be able to eventually. I have to think about what I'm eating now
