Is Christianity For Kids?😬

article image placeholderChristianity Hurts Kids
So, yeah, the religion in itself, or the people who practice the religion, the leaders and the other clergy, men and women, they are not really well versed on humanity that well, they just read the Bible and that's what they go off of, which is very unfortunate because they x out humanity and different temperaments of the human. So she also mentioned there was a time when her mother, who was religious, adopted an Asian kid and the poor kid didn't know the American language

There are many themes and parables to which adults can understand but twist to fit their own agendas. So when we look to the young to teach them about the Bible or the Torah or the Quran, whatever book it may be, I think these pieces of text are intended for any age range. It's just a matter of which

So I guess it depends on what the goal is, right? I'm not a parent. Is the goal to raise a child, to be a follower of Christ? I was going to say come h*** or high water, but only it was a cliched line, not, wow, that was terrible anyway, do you know what I mean?

And more so when I got to college, I took philosophy was one of my greatest courses. So based on the philosophers that were out there, such as Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Nietzsche, Confucius and so forth and so on, a lot of them, they were highly intelligent in regards to their philosophical opinions, and a lot of it was religious based too. So, interestingly, that made me tap into more of just a religion altogether

And I even explored various religions, well, mostly Buddhism, Judaism as well as Islam. And when I say explored, I do not mean that I went to Israel and went to Mecca and went to various places. No, I just kind of like, talked to people or read what I could in the encyclopedia. These were like the pre Google days. So that's when I say explored and I landed in Christianity, and that's where I am. So I did that as an adult

Hey. Good morning. Al. Cosby. Thank you for responding. And everything you said is just so spot on. In fact, it reminded me of a conversation I had with my older cousins many, many years ago. And I remember him telling me that even though the Bible is great and even though Christianity is good, he wanted to teach his children the basics of life first before getting into all the nuances and spirituality and abstractness of the Bible

And so with your experience that you had, you were given this religion and some precepts rules to follow and to acknowledge. I think it's a beautiful thing that there's a Creator who does forgive us for making mistakes. But things can get a bit confusing and cloudy when we don't know what those mistakes are, when we don't know or don't have the answers as to what's acceptable and not acceptable. Since much of what happened in the Bible is society culture have evolved and changed

I mean, don't you just miss the pre Google days? I still love going to the libraries, and it's great going to the libraries. You can explore so much, and when you make your own decision, it's not out of fear, so you don't have negative or a stigma attached to it. Like with me, I don't really have a negative stigma attached to it, even though some negatives occurred in the church

You. Okay. Also, dear on Edge, I forgot to mention as far as baptism goes, I totally understand how your son feels. In the Bible, in Mark one eight, it specifically says, and I'm looking here on my app, it says, I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit. And in some scriptures, it also mentions about the Holy Spirit in fire

So he misunderstood, but he understood. But I just want to throw that in there as well, too. So again, even in my church, being Baptist, Christian, we only do communion the first Sunday of every month. And again, what we do is symbolic, it's not actual. So even when we do our prayer before communion and everything, we ask that God pray over the elements that we're going to take
