article image placeholderAre Poets Made Or Born?
Hello? Hey, this is Erica. Souljourney one. K, how are you? The link to the full article will be on this. Swell. Today I will be talking about our poets made or born, according to the European Journal of Education Research. Quote poetry writing is a skill consisting of composing thoughts based on circumstances, particularly of the inward circumstances. End quote. That's from the European Journal of Educational Research on poetry

So that's going to be something maybe I challenge myself with later because we still have that old random thing going. Because we each say that we're better than the other little challenge, a little family challenge. But that means I'm going to have to get on studying it because I don't ride like that. But he writes beautifully when it comes to that. It's just insane. So his poetry and his way in mind and mine. Thanks for sharing this

Well, at this point, I started writing for myself as opposed to reciting other people's poetry. And then life took its course. I put it down again, and about five years ago, I actually accepted the call and picked it up. And I have not stopped writing. And looking back over the years, I realized I was a poet in the making. But it wasn't until I accepted the call that I birthed my first baby and then the second one and working on a third one

It. Good morning, soul Journey. You have King Pop dropping in, putting my little two cent in. I feel like everyone has a little bit of poetry in them, you know I'm saying? It depends on what type of person they is. If they go, if they saucy jazzy, you know, are straight gorilla with it, you know, it's a little bit of poet in each and every last one of us

You. Chey King. Pop, this is Erica souljourney One. K thank you so, so much for your response. I'll definitely be dropping into your conversations and I feel the same way too. Some poets made bornpart and sometimes they're made so I really do enjoy these swells when everyone chimes in, but I definitely want to visit your swells as well. I'd be hearing about your topics and they're really good topics

But then conversely, rappers, I wonder if they struggle with maybe slam poetry or writing different ballads or things like that. So that's the beautiful thing about poetry, because there's different forms and there's different ways to express it. And like you said to your son, it comes naturally to him. Whereas to people like us, I love creating poetry and giving it a certain rhythm and such

I'm really enjoying all of your responses, everyone's responses to this, because I'm just soaking in so much from what you guys tell me and just learning and growing from all of you as well. But that's what poetry does to us. It's so different for many of us, but it's so universal and it connects us all. So I'm really happy that you decided to pick up poetry again and decide to give birth to what it has for you

You. Hey, Erica, thank you for sharing. You know, it's funny that you are sharing that information and I would happen to stumble upon it so I can listen to it. But I was thinking to myself and I said it in one of my previous I think like one of my first or second twelve. I sad I've never been a poet. I've always read someone else's work and I think by the third twelve I had posted a peace of mind

Ahead. Hello, souljourney. So I love this question. Love this question. And I like the bit of background that you gave us defining poetry. So here's my specific opinion. I agree with you. Some poets are made, some are born. And when I say that, I mean some people are just more natural. And for some, it can be very much learned. I mean, to me, because I'm a poet, I think I relate everything to poetry

It’s both born into it and a creation

Look, in order to be a writer, you need to have a life. That was pretty tragic. It's like what Ernest Hemingway said when he was asked during an interview, what makes a writer? And he said, a terrible childhood. So you have to mix that in with the fact of whether you were born with the it factor or not. And this is far in between. Most people don't have there's some people out there that have both. Like Hubert Selby Jr

It and maybe it's biased, but I think several of them are in this chat feed, including myself. So I think it's the eye of the beholder, basically. Different people like different styles. Maybe you just don't like the styles that you've come across. That's just an opinion

You. Hey blaine Beefie. I am so glad that you were encouraged listening to my swell cast. Yes, I encourage you to continue to build that poetic muscle. It will be a fun and challenging journey, but it is so worth it. So I'm glad that you were able to listen to my swell and get some encouragement. And I've slumped away from poetry for a while, too. I began to write more fiction and started working more hours

But then you have poetry like Rupee Kors or verse novels, which I am such a huge fan of, verse novels that are very easy to read and digest. It's just that you enjoy just the colorful language and the rhythm of it. So there's poetry out there where it's not so abstract. But thank you again for responding and thank you for making that very valid point, that talent and ability is creativity. So thank you for listening

And I've never been a judge of writing, so I'm not going to critique you on your opinion about that. I can only imagine having to go through so much readings and nothing is tickling your fancy. What I like to say is, perhaps those who call themselves a writer, they can't write because they haven't studied the total practice of writing, but they have a lot to say and they have a wonderful imagination, but maybe it's just not getting across very well
