How can you be authentic in a heavily curated world?

article image placeholderUploaded by @soulcruzer
There's that conversation that goes on in head that says, hey, if I say this and post it, then it's out there in the world. How would it be received? And can I handle the reception of what comes back? And I guess that's where it comes to protecting yourself, isn't it? Where you don't want to be vulnerable for fear that it comes back on you. In terms of feeling like a personal attack on who you are. Your true self

Authenticity is a practice of life. @soulcruzer

Carl Young, psychologist, would say that you have a shadow component, which is the part of ourselves that is theoretically in opposition of us or is polarized to us, or what we believe is us. Because now we're talking really about our persona, how we show up in the world. Based on psychology and Kalyn's contributions to psychology, we now have a perspective or understanding that says that from the unconscious part of our minds, our ego

And I look forward to listening to and hearing the stuff that you put out that you were wanting to maybe not put out for fear of how it might be received, but it's that kind of connection with other people, either through words or through written word or through Swell where I love it. The intention is coming from a place of connecting with another human being to sharing out there so that we can have this kind of dialogue

So you are aware of the various different levels of consciousness connecting with the higher self and executing parts of it through your will and it's the will that then is, I guess, the leader of all the sub personalities because it's a direct arm of the personal self. And then you become the sort of tribal leader of all these sub personalities and work with them to build relationships with them and to utilize the best of them to bring out the best and you share with the world

🤔

You know, authenticity comes up a lot on Swell. Not the web, just on Swell, but the aspects, the examples you bring up. I don't think like that, that I want to make sure that I'm putting out, like, decent material. But other than that, I just kind of let it fly. If it lands, it lands. If it doesn't, it doesn't. If it doesn't land as much, I feel like I need to do something better

I think I'm good at reading people growing up in New York City has probably helped me with that, but I feel like I can pick out the people who don't give a f*** about what you're saying and are just nodding their head or who are closed minded and aren't willing to have open conversations. The way you measure authenticity, I think, is going to play a role in how you define that. Authenticity is just a topic of depth. Lowe key

@Cass_franco

How do you measure? How how how can you be authentic in? Again, another tough one, if you think about there's a book I read called Man Is Humans Were Conscious robots, basically. And ever since you were born, you've been programmed by the various different social norms of the people that you were raised by and the schooling system you went through, your peers and all these external inputs that go into making up who you are
