What do you think of VR and the Metaverse?

Hello good people of swell clay here. I was curious to know, what do people think of VR and the metaverse? So over the last two weeks or so I've been spending quite a lot of time in VR and the metaverse Earth just exploring its potential

Yeah, absolutely stunning in terms of the graphics and the feeling of immersion. Now the part that's a little bit probably a lot worrying, I'm worried about sort of big tech. So Meta's got the big thing is the Metaverse, and so they're trying to gobble up the space. Google has a platform, Microsoft owns, some have bought and they own Alt Space VR

So they set up this virtual space where this rig appeared and the trainees could actually experience being on the rig and they could find out where all the safety things were in that particular physical space in VR. So that was amazing. Cutting down costs for companies to doing things like that, that's training and therapy. Right?

So I think people have to be careful with that and build an experience that's within that person's comfort zone, at least to start, so they can get a feel for the technology and its usage, not to try and shock their mind to draw a reaction out of them. Cool. And as an educator, you should check out educators in VR. I think if you just Google them you'll find all the stuff that they are up to

And I think they used some sort of, I don't know, figurine, like a zombie or something, and they said, okay, this is your cancer, you've got to shoot the cancer. And apparently it was quite a powerful tool. And I think that would be interesting. Like if you were to put people into VR and they were to battle their problems, albeit mental or physical health, that could be an important use of it as well

So, having a good time playing, decided I was going to take a quick break and I went to lean on the table, totally forgetting I was in VR and fell flat on my face as I attempted to lean on a table that was there but not there. Yeah. Got to stay aware that you're in a whole other space that isn't a space. Cool

@soulcruzer I'm in Oz

Hey, where's your accent from? It sounds like a combination of England and America. Is that the case? Because originally I'm from England, but I also grew up in Hong Kong, and now I'm living in Australia. So I'm an English teacher, language teacher, also technology teacher, and languages and accents fascinate me. So I'm like, where is this guy from? He's got little bits of English in there and little bits of American

Haha. You guessed it. That's right. I'm from? Originally from New Jersey. I'm a Jersey boy, but I've been living here in England for 22 years now, so yeah. Still got that little blend going on. Not quite the they're not quite here, but hey, there it is. It's
