Why being ‘woke’ is bullsh!t

article image placeholdergraphic by @izzy
Wilke is defined as a political term that originated in the United States, and it refers to a perceived awareness of issues that concern social justice and racial justice. Well, you may be thinking to yourself, that sounds freaking awesome. That sounds great. That sounds like what we need more of in this world. And you're definitely right to an extent. Here's what I mean

The problem of being praised for being a decent human being

Thanks for sharing this

Hi. Thank you for sharing. You know, this word here is used so loosely, and as we always know, people take words and they kind of, you know, words kind of have the meaning of their own and don't really th really abide by what it means in a dictionary or Wikipedia or whatever. From my experience with Woke is these days is never said that people knew everything and definitely doesn't mean that someone can tell somebody else their work

@BrandyJ thank you so much for these thougts

Brandi, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this. I really appreciate how you brought up. That how you got to the conclusion that why being woke is bullsht different than how I got to that conclusion. We still got to that same conclusion illusion, because we have different experiences that we live. But at the end of the day, the way that woke is used, I totally agree with you. It's performative

#wokeisnotasaying😉 #itsbullshit

Is that right before I checked this post here, I was just in an app reading and the man was talking about, if you don't notice this right here, then that means you are not woke, right? And I was going to take this and add it as a link in here. And I came to this one here to come see the response. But I think that the post that I'm going to put up what he's talking about. It'll be interesting if you want to

I thought it was an ironic term

But you guys have noted it's not defining anything other than a performative attitude. The second place I see it is on the right. When people my age or older saying those woke Liberals, it's not a compliment. And again, they're talking about performative social justice. So I didn't realize that anyone actually ever uses the term to describe themselves or to describe the work of committing to learning about social justice

And it's like, you don't want to say this is all stupid because so many people lose and have lost their lives. But there's no sense there's no life again for all this craziness that's going on and also what we all deserve to be treated with the utmost respect and dignity, even though we know that we have not been, but no one has to be a victim. What do we do from here on out? What are we waiting on?

I hope I made sense at some point there, but yeah, just consider it. I think it'd be honored. But you know, if not, I understand, too. I still love to hear more about you in front of you. Thank you for sharing. Bye
