My sister would climb in the bathtub and give me a bath. So, yeah, it was a crazy situation, but I never gave up hope, and I recovered almost completely. My left hand has a little bit of a deficit to it, but almost completely. And that was way back in 1979. And here I am, a month away from turning 65, and I am going to race another five K Kayak race tomorrow, right next to Olympians, I have Team USA starting out with me

I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me

Thank you for sharing your story. What a journey. Holy cow. Yeah, I've never had anything like that. Well, no, I did my diaphragm ruptured in 2017. I had been a dancer for 20 years and a singer, and my diaphragm ruptured, and I was in the hospital for a week, only a week, though. But they had had to completely sew me back together. My stomach came through my diaphragm and partially crushed my left lung
