Is it possible for a society to be more collaborative & less hierarchical?

Or do we need a good portion of the population to simply yes, when someone says this is the answer, this is the way it should go. This is what should happen. I wonder how much is conditioning to think that we need to have people who simply say, yeah, and what it could be or is like in other cultures? Is it possible to be more collaborative and to have fewer hierarchies

Reflecting a bit on civil rights history

So in the March at Soma, when protesters marched from Selma, Alabama, to Montgomery, Alabama, in the fight for black suffrage in 1965, protesters were confronted twice with law enforcement, and both times law enforcement were ordered to blockade them. The first time, they were eventually ordered to violently attack them. The second time the protesters ended up leaving. So nothing happened. The third time, however, the President and a judge signed off on this ordered troops to protect the protesters

So messy. @Izzy

It doesn't matter which side you're on thinks that they are thinking critically, that they are evaluating things critically, and they're challenging individuals asking questions, but they're not all really thinking critically. It's not really holding us accountable. It's sort of messy. And I guess that's really the crux of it, isn't it? All these things are much more messy than an ideal version of them
