I don't know. So I'm leaving it wide open. But after that point, then the AI is going to advance to a point that is beyond humans. And so that's where I end up with my question. Is it possible for an AI to become more human than human? What does that mean?

What would that look like?

And once they get these sorts of things to think a little bit more independently, I can see a lot of people losing their jobs way more than before. So we're living in a very interesting time. I'm not sure how soon we'll see the integration of this sort of technology into our data lives, but it's certainly being made. And they are doing some really remarkable stuff
@SeekingPlumb

Wow. The creep factor. @CaliGooner

But then, on the other hand, there are certain things that it did that you would need somebody who was experienced and physically able to do some of those things for the AI to mirror. That amazing. Also, what blew my mind was how it navigated the snowy ground in the Woods. Like, I mean, that's sometimes difficult for humans to do

This is a very fascinating topic and one that I really relish talking about. I don't think I can be concise. And might this my response over here might take a few swells to communicate exactly what I want to say. So first, I did want to talk about about AI is being more like human. What does being human mean? What does being human mean for us? How do we differentiate humanity from the rest? I've been thinking about it a lot

Where aren't AIs already competitive with humans?

Can it do the things a human can mind can do as well or better in terms of these outputs and by outputs? I mean, can it invent tools? Can it produce art? Can it wage war? Can it go to space? So let's look at some areas where computer intelligence has already beaten humans. One is in performing precise, repetitive tasks

Their evolution does not require them to have the same mental emotional intelligence that humans do. Yet us humans like to humanize everything. And that's the way we perceive relationships and fishes. Likewise, it is interesting to see that when we talk about AI and everything, we tend to put a very humanoid appearance to them. And that's why the whole Boston Dynamics thing is so creepy. Right? I mean, you see this artificial thing that behaves like a human in terms of how it moves and everything

But when we kind of design these neural networks very much like our brain and give it the goal setting that our brains have right to survive and pass your genes on. That is when these things will start becoming behaving more like, I don't want to use the word humans. I want to say more like evolutionary living beings and in some ways develop consciousness

So this is very fascinating. And this is one of the biggest threats from AI we have. It's not that it figured out it didn't capacitate the competitor. It's about like if you ask neural networks to solve a problem and have it evolved like this, it will figure out a way to solve it, and it'll figure out the most efficient way to solve it also. But the thing is, it will figure out ways that we never would have ever imagined

@shammi @Sarlax

Oh, before I forget and get into some of my thoughts, I just saw an Advertisement today for a show coming to HBO called Superintelligence, and apparently it is some form of AI that is to look over, care for a woman. I don't know much more than that, but I'm intrigued by it specifically because of these types of conversations. So listening to the two of you talk about in what regards AI is so far beyond us, and then those that they're still learning
@SeekingPlumb

I'm SO sorry, @shammi! πŸ™πŸ»

Oh my goodness. Shammi. I am so embarrassed. I don't know what was wrong. I was looking at your. Your picture, your username. I was, I guess, wrapped up in the ideas. I don't know. I'm so sorry. I don't know what to say. Just that I'm really sorry if you didn't catch it in the swell above. I called you Irish or Irish. I'm not exactly sure of the pronunciation

These are like, what do you call augmenting ourselves to protect ourselves? Our phone, augments ourselves to connect with this huge hive mind, our glasses or spectacles actually augment our vision and so on. Again, these are all non invasive, so it doesn't feel like we are becoming cyborgs. But then if you want to consider people who actually have pacemakers or prosthetics. They're more sidebargs. I guess so. From that standpoint, merging with AI is also like trying to augment yourself

Welcome to Swell!

@SeekingPlumb

Thank you, @shammi, for elaborating.

That is, I don't know if any of you have seen this show called Continuum a few years old now, but there was a character who she was called a protector. It was sort of a law enforcement, and it was a device in her head, but also some sort of a lens in her eye. So using access to more information and being able to have this AI type thing pick up on information definitely augmented her ability to do all sorts of things

@MerelyHuman @SeekingPlumb

I think there is a lot of power to truth when people come together and good information, and that might actually lead people to effectively make decisions that would lead to better policy and better government. So I believe, like any other piece of technology, AI is also going through its hiccups but eventually would settle down and become effective
