If "might is right" & one upsmanship is at an end, where do we go from there?

I mean, apart from putting in a call to God and asking him to make an appearance? And apart from things war, there will come a time when one upsmanship becomes pointless

Bridging the divide: how to communicate with such a contrasting perspective? Is it possible?

This is Heman three, and I agree. I agree with you completely the authoritarian way of thinking or more. I want to say the traditional way of thinking has is run its course. Power can corrupt and it has corrupted a lot of politicians, a lot of CEOs, a lot of people in power and through that corruption may have done horrific and horrible things, but have justified it as they are just trying to better themselves or better their company or put themselves in a better place

Different cognitive styles.

They go on to say, since the more authoritarian view the social order as fragile and under attack, they tend to feel negatively about behave aggressively toward and being tolerant of those whom they perceive violate time honored norms or fail to adhere to established social conventions. Specifically, scholars have shown a strong relationship between authoritarianism and negative effect towards minority groups, and a final one

So the reason why we are this way is because of our environment. For example, I am an AfricanAmerican man. I was born in a very notsonice neighborhood, and I did not allow myself to who fall into the same stereotypes that many other black men allow themselves to fall into. The system has been made to oppress African Americans, other minorities, women of color, and also women in general, because they don't want to see us rise up

@SeekingPlumb

There's no way to increase the # of people with these cognitive skills.

I agree. You know, environment and experiences play a significant role in developing those cognitive tools. Parenthetically, I think that when people look at black people, minorities, whatever else and say things like they're lazy. These are choices that they've made. They need to pull up their bootstraps. Et cetera

And I maybe need to understand and really take the time to understand that maybe the country that I want to represent isn't so great after all. So it takes a lot of strength on their part and a lot of openness on their part, and some people will not be open to it. Some people will not care. Some people will just go and say, hey, you know what? I don't care. I believe in Trump, and that's all that matters

Oh wow. I gotta get back into the swing of swellIng, thx for bearing w me 😁

You'll find people who are sympathetic to your question answering and responding, but it won't even reach the ears of people who don't relate to the wording you're using, because I think if it were worded differently, a lot of people would agree that the most important thing is I mean, I hear from these people sometimes when they come out against the things I believe in and they are sincere, and I cannot see the point of view stupid empathy, but it's around the capitalism and the free market and competition

Might.. is right. πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™‚οΈ @SeekingPlumb

If there's anything people will respect is the might, maybe they will fear it. But yeah, you had mentioned that. The obedience. That was an interesting word you used being obedient to laws that govern the land that makes us civil, all right. To some degree, we're civilized because of it, at least than some other nations when you're not obedient to the laws. But also, it can be what can spark change the unrest here in Minnesota, right?

Perhaps an unsuccessful attempt on my part. @Brooke415

Thanks, Brooke. So I think I was trying something that was maybe not successful. This is kind of weird to try to explain. So I'm gonna make it weirder with some sort of an analogy. Imagine two groups of people. Okay, blue people and red people. And if blue people are trying to communicate with red people, red people have a different perspective world view from the blue people. I'm trying to discover explore ways of communicating

Ways of thinking & avoiding the patterns. @Dewuan

Either you completely destroy the other person or there is no bigger gun. So what I'm wondering is without even acknowledging that game, you know, bigger this bigger that how do you gain that person's respect

You know, let me let me try to answer that the way in a situation like that, I believe the way that you gain respect, you use whatever means is approaching appropriate at that particular time. Now are all of life's challenges going to come at us in the same type of way? No. Sometimes problems will come at us that will require diplomacy. Sometimes problems will come that will require force and violence. I would never gravitate towards someone who is too much of one or the other

Lol.. your post have me like 🀯 @SeekingPlumb

So let's say when George Bush Jr. Said Saddam had weapons of mass destruction on the heels of the 911 and we got all this nationalism going on and this jingoism, this patriotic duty as Americans to fight evil, axis of evil, that sort of thing. We go there and it turns out there's no weapons of mass destruction. So that might is right approach was ineffective

@SeekingPlumb

My apologies, @Dewuan.

I'm sorry if I'm repeating anything but part of my thinking stemmed from how Democrats versus Republicans or left versus right. We have different ways of approaching life. I mean, even if you're talking about how to discipline your children, right. I do think you're right that the expedient option is a more concrete option. It's something you can do right now right here. And the more time consuming one can be more ambiguous, making it not as concrete

And now, I am out of my depth. πŸ˜† @SeekingPlumb

Right wing is about kind of, like, conservatism, right? Getting things back to the way they were making America great again. Left wing is about change everything. Let's radicalize it all. I can't answer that question. I don't really know how that works. That sort of diplomacy. I only know, like diplomacy. I've had in situations, experiences I've been in. But I can't for the life of me, think how to run the government

I hear you! I don't want the job either. And thank you, @Dewuan. 😊

Yeah, I'm not such a great communicator, and I need to flush some things out a little bit, but thank you too, because you gave me some things to think about and things to look at from a different perspective

You are selling yourself too short. I'm just incompetent. He hasn't. You're not the fault. Okay? You are the benefit to the platform. All right? I mean, you got six applause in is now, so obviously people can understand you just fine. But leave it up to me to ponder over this. And like I said, I did take considerable amount of time, and I must have did, like, 40 takes most posts. It'll take me one take

🀣🀣🀣🀣 Yes!! @Dewuan

Going back to the topic of takes, there are sometimes when I hear someone's response to something, my swell or another swell, and I think I have it. I think I understand what they're saying. And I'm thinking about my response, but I want some time to process it. And then it's not until, like, 12 hours, next day, whatever. And I finally realized that's not what they were saying. It was this. Oh, yeah
