FIXED! Swell Tip: False start that sticks?

article image placeholderUploaded by @SeekingPlumb
If you are one of the handful of people that I've heard and this in your swells today, you may be wondering, what in the world happened? I hit the Delete recording button. You absolutely did. You are not imagining things. However, there is a slight little finicky part of the app that you may not be aware of. So when you hit the trash can and a little screen pops up and says, Delete Recording yes or no?

Reset to restart! @SeekingPlumb

The amount of times I have to restart a swell is ridiculous. And there have been many times that after posting it, I've realized that the first bit has not been deleted. So I have to go back and rerecord. I mean, you can't, like, clip it, clip the good part and replace it over the missed part at the top. And so I had to rerecord right after recording, like, full five minutes of it. So yep. Thanks so much for the tip

I know exactly how you feel. I don't know how many times early on I would put swells out, realizing that I didn't hit dead on and have, like, two, three false starts. And I was like, I can't keep it up there. Anyway. Then I realized this is just something I've been doing for a very long time. And when I started hearing it happen to other people, I realized, maybe I'll just share this little tidbit

Hello, Christina. Thank you so much for calling this out. We can address it in the latest release, so you should check it out and let us know what you think. But you can no longer dismiss the pop up by accidentally tapping out of the buttons, so you have to actually tap on the button yes or no. So that should, I think, help a little bit with this. But thank you for calling it out

@sudha

Thank you. I thought maybe yesterday I had noticed it was fixed, but I didn't slow down to double check. Amazing. Not only does the screen not go away, but you can click anywhere on that yes button. It's fabulous. Thank you so, so much. I didn't mean it to be a call out. And I wish I had mentioned this a few years prior, but I don't know why I didn't. Of all the things I do mention to you guys

I'm so glad somebody cleared this up because I was like, yesterday, it took me forever to post my swell cast because I was, like, thinking about your post, and, like, I thought that it happened, but then, like you said, then I was like, no, it seems like it's fixed. And I get hung up on this stuff. I don't know if you know that, Christine, but I do. I get hung up on little things like that

And so I'm just like anyway, I wrestle with these things of trying to understand how technology works and doesn't work and when glitches can arise and then decisions that were intentional versus those that were not thought about versus maybe there's things that I don't even know about that I can't perceive here

That's exactly what I'm reading about in neurotribes right now. Or I'm sorry, listening to in neurotribes where autism really isn't autism. It's just like, a lot of times. Not all the time, because I don't want to stereotype. But many autists or Autistics are the geek gods of our culture, and now they're being headhunted for positions in data and encoding

Anyway, I love this part of my brain that it tries to solve things when people talk about things that they do for fun. This is it. I want to be able to figure out how something works, deconstruct it, zoom in and zoom out on it, turn it all around, and then put it back together again
