Live or Asynchronous

But I'm finding it now feels quite the opposite because of a few different factors. I find when I hit the button to record, it suddenly feels like there's pressure, more pressure than when I do it live. It's almost like it's performative. Right. So before I continue, these thoughts are more about asynchronous communication versus live. This is not specifically anything negative about swell or positive about clubhouse. This is more about the different styles of social audio

Possible logistics?

I could probably do a deeper dive on this to elaborate further, but I don't know that that's necessary. Or if anyone really wants to hear that with respect to there are definitely things here on swell that are valuable that are helpful and that people prefer right. The only thing that stands out to me at the moment is it doesn't feel as intuitive or as easy to find certain things, and it feels very distinctly separate as opposed to community oriented, if that makes sense, which sounds weird

Hey, Christine, I wanted to pop in here to say that Twelve 30 is releasing at the end of February, and it addresses so many of your just logistic comments. And I'm really excited because I think community is the operative word. Here a place where people could really find each other through categories and through topics and through inviting each other to different conversations and really having this evergreen content that lives on can be reinvigorated months later

Welcome to Swell!

@SeekingPlumb

Thank you! @DBPardes

Very cool. I'm going to keep an eye out for 30. Yeah. I think that there's great value in the different ways that we can communicate. And I think that whether it's swell or live in person or live on clubhouse or whatever platform they could each provide us some form of fulfillment in our sense of community and relating. And so on. And so yeah, I'm looking forward to this next version. Thank you for the update

what are the social dynamics like in a live social audio space?

But I'm wondering if you find it the same as being in a conversation in real life or what's different about a live conversation than called house space
@SeekingPlumb

I found ways to make it work for me, but… @Tim

So there are rooms where there are I don't know if you're familiar, there's a stage in an audience, and if you're on the stage, then you can unmute and participate. And if you're in the audience, then you can't. But you can ask to come up to the stage
@SeekingPlumb

Also... @Tim

I don't know how to describe it, but there are definitely conversations where it's not like I have to fight to participate, or I have to be in a particular mood to participate. I've come across some really great people and so many great conversations. I can't even tell you it's it has been a gift, really

Very insightful

And I guess this is what Clubhouse doesn't really have an issue with is that clubhouse is so big that they have specific areas of expertise that you can go into and have a conversation about. Whereas on Swell, you know, you're not going to have that right. Open Swell
@SeekingPlumb

True! (My responses to Tim elaborate on how I've made it work.) @FryedOreo

Now, clubhouse, if someone's being an app, I have no problems shutting that s*** down where most people are shocked to hear that now, because that's not the way I've normally operated. I will say I'm sorry I'm off on a tangent here, but in real life, it's a little more difficult, too, because there's more information to process than simply an idea and somebody you can't see or you're their voices
