If our feelings manifested in the air around us...

The spread don't always come, but sometimes when they do, the more intense the feeling or the experience, the more spread that appear. So as an example, if you're creating a piece of art and you are really in the flow, then the spread will appear, and the more creativity that is happening there, the more into that flow that you are, the more spread that are attracted to what you're doing

The ultimate mood ring existence! How would we as a people be different? How would YOU live your life?

Thank you. πŸ€ͺ "Wearing a mask" vs masking an emotion. @MerelyHuman

I'm not 100 on this, but I kind of think of it as a part of the regulating our emotions or at least the outward presentation of them. I think there is a time and place for masking, but like anything, if we take it to either extreme, it can be damaging to ourselves as well as those around us

The personality continuum. @MerelyHuman

Okay. I think I'm going to attempt to run with this idea. If the personality is the continuous expression of emotional States, I almost feel like there's an additional element here. And I don't know if there's a compounding that happens because I feel like our personalities become more and more defined as we go through time. But maybe that's a different discussion. But looking at personality as a sort of continuum, that's sort of a big picture type of thing. Right

FWIW @MerelyHuman

For what it's worth, I think that psychology and philosophy are soft topics themselves. And so anything that falls under those umbrellas is going to have similar characteristics. So it's going to be nighon impossible for any person to be able to identify all the components of whatever that conversation is. It's just the nature of what it is. These things are delightfully messy and intriguing, and we do the very best we can with an imperfect language and an imperfect understanding of our humanity

And the reason I was looking at the test thing that you go through at the Young psychologist had written up or whatever as a thing to do as a therapy, we actually have parts of ourselves that we suppress down due to the fact that we suppress anger and those life fear and those nasty emotions that we don't like to deal with. And due to that fact, we suppress different parts of ourself that we're not aware of

@RayB765

Interesting the way that you've talked about it. I'm thinking maybe I have not run into this. I'm guessing that it's not the Myers Briggs stuff that's built on Carl Young's thinking that that this is something different, a different test, a different tool. Do you have either a name of what it is or maybe a link? Because I'd like to learn more about it in the context of this conversation, et cetera. And also, welcome to Swell
